Not just us: MSU commit, who had scholly pulled after OSU visit, signs with OSU

You have to do it. You can't give a kid a free option to shop your scholarship around to other schools.

From my understanding D'Antonio allows committed players to visit other schools as long as they inform the staff. Apparently, this guy pulled an A.Jennings and went without prior approval.

Kind of odd for MSU coaches to require that, but also don't blame them.

Now there are MSU fans that are convinced OSU didn't really want his commitment but are doing it to start tensions amongst current/future MSU commits.

Unfortunately MSU is in a better position to replace the kid with someone as good.

MSU's coach said yesterday on ESPN that it was as much not being honest as it was visiting. He also said there should be loyalty to a commitment or don't make one.

I hope everyone noticed that we didn't offer.....

On the one hand, I understand kids wanting to go to what they consider the "best" program. And they have every right to considering the restrictions placed on them after signing.

On the other hand, it annoys the heck out of me that kids give verbals and don't stick to them. I suspect there are some kids who give verbals just to make sure they have someplace good to go but with every intention of jumping ship as soon as something better comes along.

Good for the kid...he had not signed ANYTHING...these kids have no power once they sign...it is their life and their scholarship...if something they perceive as better comes along...take it! MSU will get over it...as will all the other schools this happens to!

MSU took a hardline because they could afford to. They replaced the kid the next day with another recruit. By the way, they had several other commitments at the same event but those players did not work out.

Please. Ohio State gets what it wants out of Ohio and UM and Sparty dine on the scraps.
