They get 9k avg people and can't make money. ? What?

The ncaa not sharing money makes me laugh. They mandate sports but don't share the women's revenue? Wtf?!

That is the way it is (and it is not a secret, either). It is what frustrated me by some folks remarks in previous threads. The major source of revenue is not the fannies in the seats, and BeK did some sort of analysis a few years back about it. It costs a lot of money to run a program (and a facility, for that matter). And while coaches salaries are certainly part of the picture (WBB coaches are compensated across the board at amounts just not seen in the non-revenue sports) they are not the over-all cost driver for running a program at most schools.

And before you get too mad at the NCAA - they lose money on the women's tournament; they don't share the revenue because it only reduces the size of the loss. I think if you dig deeper you would find that the NCAA pays some of a school's expenses during the tourney.
