OT: #1 NJ to Syracuse

Not sure why the acrimony.

Syracuse, used to be the better football program, but Rutgers is now.

The brown hire may be a shot in the arm and he will need to prove it as a CEO.

Not sure why both programs can’t succeed and Northeast football be the better for it. There’s plenty of players for both programs

it just may mean that BC Pitt, Indiana, Northwestern, Illinois, etc. may get less players. Both ru and cuse seek.
We have outrecruited Syracuse in football continually
Maybe, maybe they out do us this go round for a year
We have the better program in a very better conference
Would never trade places with them

Agree RU is now the better program as stated. The B10 is the better conference. Those two seem objectively correct.

My point was that Fran may get kids largely that we are not interested in but that bc pitt ill etc are, and that northeast fball as a whole may improve. One post stirrer infantile poster doesnt change that as a possibility, which doesnt affect RU negatively as a whole.

He started to Cuse. What he does for other teams doesn’t matter. Lol. You guys are seriously reaching. You reek of hate.

Ridiculous post.

Brown recruiting is so much smoke and mirrors but it’s getting everybody attention right now.
The "smoke and mirrors" worked out nicely at several spots including one of, if not THE most successful programs currently and it's definitely working right now.

You claiming Brown is responsible for Georgia’s success when he came on board after they already won a NC is kind of funny.

You guys all destroyed Ash for riding Urban’s coattails though. At least be consistent.

Two Georgia WRs that sat on the bench. A nephew that followed his uncle. All former 4 stars now 3 stars. McCord might be for real but he scared to play on the big stage anymore.

I'm sure UGA hired him because he couldn't recruit. That's not how Kirby Smart saw it.
I never said anything about Chris Ash beyond not wanting him hired by SU and after he wasn't I didn't give a single sh*t about what he did.

This will turn out like Ash for them. Although it’s arguable that 3 of their last 4 coaches were the Ash for them, so it’s hard to imagine a more rock bottom (unless you’re UConn) but they are headed that way. Big “recruiting” gets .. Art Sikowski, QB of the Future .. etc… #1 in NJ Jonathan Lewis … etc .. how did that all turn out. Seen this story before.

Also who cares, Syracuse is in a different conference. They’re success has the same impact on us as Virginia or Louisville, really doesnt matter.

Ash was a terrible hire. Didn’t want him either.

I'm not sure why we want to say FB will suck- we just don't know. He is also a good recruiter. He has a bit of a war chest burning a hole in is pocket right now. And he has one of the easiest P5 schedules ever seen.
Good shot at 9 wins next year.
It will be the following year that will be the show me year. He isn't taking over a hot mess like Ash left us- Even without a McCord and a couple of the other transfers- they should have gotten 7/8 wins next year regardless.

Will it really make a difference o Rutgers- not one single bit. I am not even sure why anyone really thinks it will. And we will still collect our $80 mil and rising, watch our own stock rise and still be in the best Conference in College- as well as an incredible research conference that we fit perfectly in.

Franny will be hard to recruit against in NY/NJ. But we've also been going to Florida, Georgia, NC and the Midwest. NJs been overrated for years. We'll get a handful of solid 3 stars and a blue chipper or 2 in NJ.

Why though?
Why will Syracuse get recruits that Rutgers/HC Schiano want?

Rutgers: Big Ten, HC Schiano on long term contract, home state, bowl game
Syracuse: ACC (who couldn't even get undefeated team into CFP), middle of nowhere, terrible weather, HC Brown

Is Brown really that much of a difference maker that he renders HC Schiano and all those items meaningless?

All this Fran Brown scuttlebutt seems to have shed light on how tenious HC Schiano's "great recruiter" moniker actually is apparently.

But why are you responding to them? Spending this much time on a board that is not your own is just sad. I feel sorry for you.
C'mon.. He's proudly repping the mighty Syracuse Orange. His posts are making them look GOOD.. and not at all obsessed or needy.

ir how easily RU fans panic over every hire another school makes.
The same" we're doomed" Halfey will be getting all the recruits and make BC the beast of the east was cried in many threads here when BC hired him.
Schiano's slow but steady approach to building a winning program goes unappreciated here and when great recruiters are hired elsewhere Schiano's positives are overlooked.

Schiano has already proven he can build a winner out of a loser.
Greg is showing that's the case his second go around aT RU
fran Brown is a proven recruiter , but has to prove he can handle being the boss when he never was fully in charge of the team's defense at any of his past jobs .

Your Schiano-hate makes you strong in the dark side of the force.

As for Brown.. it is all wish-casting by Syracuse fans who want to believe... and it doesn't matter because we recruit nationally now... as we should. Also NJ >> NY and New Brunswick >>> Syracuse... Big Ten >>>> ACC... and the coming ACC implosion will prove it and settle things even if Fran Brown is their mesiah.

I'm not the one saying HC Schiano can't outrecruit Fran Brown like some others.

Regardless of my "Schiano-hate", I'll believe it when I see it that Syracuse gets a recruit that HC Schiano and Rutgers wants.

Others are talking like Fran Brown is light years ahead of HC Schiano.
If he can out recruit us from Syracuse of all places (with all their associaged baggage) then he must super powers.

I don't think so...Most NJ recruits realize if they are a RU/Cuse level recruit- they would rather go the same distance or less to Maryland, Pitt(a much better School than Cuse) VaTech etc...
Fran will do well with some of the solid 3 star kids in the area...and he may get a recruit or two over us- who cares? We will most likely win most/majority of the head to head battles for recruits regardless.

He has two 2024 NJ 4* commits with one week of recruiting including the #1 overall. That's pretty impressive. I would assume with a whole year of recruiting it may even be better next year. 🤷

unless the wheels fall off and wins don't come because his coaching talent is a far cry from his recrudescing ability .
Ir;s a big jump from being a position coach to the one in charge of it all
Sam Pittman made that jump at Arkansas and in for years is 23-25

He's going to recruit really well until the results on the field don't look good. Remember even Ash pulled in (Bo) Melton, Micah, Fogg etc until 78-0. But my goodness does Cuse have a soft schedule next year. A bad team might win 7 or 8 against that 'gauntlet.' So we shall see.

I doubt any of these SU clowns will come back and post here if the results on the field don’t live up to the hype.

Ash would get 7/8 wins with that schedule

You are right, Syracuse due to their 2024 schedule may be able to reach 7-9 wins, probably could have done it without paying the huge NIL. They now have 2 4 star recruits including McCord in 2024. All their additional recruits are all 3 star recruits. I laugh because when you look at their 2025 and 2026 they will be at their best at 5-7 wins, back to the old Cuse.
