OT: 2024 NY Giants Season Thread

Justin Fields went for a sixth rounder. Could have had Barkley and him (and Neighbors and Burns)….

Tiki brought this up today on his show. I have to admit, I didn’t notice it at the time and it’s hard to pick up on a phone screen in the shadows. Tiki said the DB coach was totally in Banks’ face after the play.
As he should be. He already called him out once this season after the Dallas game

What an awful 2 point play.
This is like watching Rutgers.
Endless passes to sideline and poop in red zone
Wilson making huge gains on same pass route on left sideline

Man, Giants have no luck with kickers staying healthy lately. Hope Jude does well.

Awful end of half. Give up a 3rd & 16 conversion and then a TD on next play with 6 seconds left. Wash gets the ball to start the 2nd half. Clinic in how losing teams lose.

Do the Giants have negative passing yardage for the 1st half? Thomas replaced by Turnstile?

I guess our guys, outside of a couple plays by Nabers, seemingly never making tough catches is included in in the league leading drops, but yeah, we never make tough catches.

I get the analytics of going for 2 down 8, but shouldnt that be reserved for a team with consistent success in goal line offense?
I don't even like the analytics. But very much dislike it given our struggles.

But the D coming out and giving up a big play on 3rd and long, and likely giving up points makes it mute.

Unless you buy into Sanchez's theory that it killed momentum.

Which I don't really, but maybe.
I think it does a little. Keep the positive vibes going as long as you can, instead of coming off the field in failure. Computer geeks don't factor in momentum, emotion or feel for the game. This isn't a Jetson's game of Robotic Football.

Jones is for some reason is afraid to throw the ball and hanging onto it too long. He's getting killed because he's flat out refusing to try and fit it into small windows or unable to find the open man. We signed a journeyman to a long-term contract.
