OT: 2024 NY Jets Season Thread

I’ve been following this team since the late 60s as a young kid. I think this year’s version is the worst coached and least accountable of any. The over and over of dumb penalties, dumb and careless plays is truly remarkable. The lack of focus and overall arrogance is mind blowing.

look like Yankees last night doing crazy dumb sh!t

This is the worst football team I’ve watched. As a Rutgers and jets fan it’s hard to say that. But this team is that bad.

I wish they would stop show boating. Raising the ball before crossing the goal line is not good. And the rb show boat letting go of the ball before crossing was terrible.

Jets playoff scenario:To get the last playoff spot, they'll likely have to go at least 6-2.
In addition, they must beat out Denver due to the head to head loss.
The Broncos have a very difficult schedule,so they could fold.
A 6-2 finish would likely have the Jets beating out Indy and Cincy, their two most likely competitors.

Someone recently pointed out that the easy schedule remaining for the Jets gave them a shot at making the playoffs.
I can't believe it, but it seems to be true. They have a shot at the playoffs.
Until their O-line gets their quarterback hurt.

TBH, at this stage of his career, I don't think Aaron Rodgers is that big an upgrade over Tyrod Taylor.

I don’t see a playoff scenario. Watching the team play this season, they make too many consistent mistakes and are poorly coached. Hard for me to see anything better than an 8-9 record. I also think the horrible loss to Denver at home by a point is going to cost them.

They just can't tackle. I've never seen anything like it. It is like the Cards sprayed WD40 on themselves.

The Cardinals have a very good running attack lately, so I expected them to run well against the Jets today given how poor the Jets run D has been.

The Cardinals defense hasn’t been good enough to give the Jets any excuse for their poor offensive showing.

Can we at least stop with all of the playoff talk ? The team is 3-7.
Perhaps they should start talking about their draft position. And who is gonna be their quarterback next year.

AZ Defensive Rookie of the Year: CB Max Melton

There hasn't been a great deal of production from Cardinals rookies on defense, especially in areas like the pass rush. DL Xavier Thomas just saw a breakout game, and could overtake this award come season's end, but for now, cornerback Max Melton has been the most proficient rookie on the defensive side.

Melton has allowed a 67.6% completion rate and 308 yards, but has yet to allow a touchdown, and has only committed one penalty. He had one of his better games in coverage against the Bears. He has two PBUs in the last three weeks and has been inconsistent, but with raw veteran-like skills. He's been a tackle machine, with 29 over nine games despite only making one start.

Who is Jets HC next year?

Would Gruden be considered ?

Team needs a kick ass HC who will hold players accountable.

Don’t know what the hell happens in Florham Park but the country club culture and lack of accountability needs to change

Good luck with that. Woody will be heading out to be an ambassador again and leaving the team with his brother who gave us Gase.
