i would just pitch a damn ass non pitcher and give everyone on the bench 2 innings of pitching unless a couple of bullpen guys need some work. lol
There is a rule against that.
Mets currently are carrying 14 pitchers. They will likely carry no more than 12 for the wild card round. The two guys who draw the short straw pitch the Monday game.
Don't like that this lineup is so right hand heavy. But what you gonna do. Since McNeil went down its only Nimmo and Winker from that side. And Winker has been quiet of late. But shaping up as another one of those games where we wait and hope for some offense.

Really needed Severino not to sh*t the bed tonight with Sale and Freid on deck. Oh well. Maybe the Mets best shot will be backing in vs. the Diamondbacks. Hopefully, the Padres have something to play for in those last 3 games.
Alvarez needs a talking too in between innings. That play and Marte missing the cutoff man were brutal.
He didn't really. Like Gary Cohen is saying that was more bad luck and terrible execution than anything. The one that really hurts was the jam shot by Laureano because 2 out rbi hits are demoralizing. Even moreso when it's hit at 40 mph.

Mets are going to be swept again. Severino has been overrated all year and is pitching exactly how i expected him to pitch. Such a big deal that he remained healthy. I have no real faith in quintana either.
Crap the bed in this series like in 2022 and absolutely no one will care about having the best record in baseball since June. Your reputation would remain the same.
As a Mets fan at this game you must have some big balls to stand up to face the Braves fan raising an OMG sign following a solo home run when you're still down by 4 runs. Even as a Mets fan I would be like sit down and shut up.
There is a saying in baseball (which the White Sox have disproven) that you can pencil in 50 wins and 50 losses, and it's what you do in the other 62 that define your season.
If so, this game was one of the 50 losses. Nothing to do but move on and get ready for the next one. But who knows where or when?

But a Wednesday rainout is news, at least to us non-locals.
Yeah it sucks. I hope there's some contingency plan in place that hasn't been disclosed. Big picture though say neither of the next 2 days can be played. That would mean that Sale and Fried would be pitching against the Royals and not in a potential Monday doubleheader. But who would in all likelihood is Schwellebach. And we know how hard doubleheaders are to sweep anyway.

Team lacked intensity which is inexcusable
Team just goes to hell and continues to rot in Atlanta.
And oh yeah Lindor needs to get In the lineup. Acuna is a great story but our MVP is desperately needed just for leadership alone.
Hope next 2 games get rained out given SP matchups / lack of positive mojo and gives Lindor more time to get better.
