OT: 2024 NY Yankees Season Thread

Man. that was great. He put himself in a bad
spot then worked his way out of it.
I actually felt pretty confident for the first time in a long, long time when a Yankees pitcher came in to close a game.
And thank you, Juan Soto.

Guys, we can be excited about our magic number being 1 and we have a good shot at winning the number one playoff seed. I feel this team is peaking at the right time.
Sadly, Cashman built this team and it is fatally flawed for the playoffs.

Hopeful, but agree.

This team leads MLB in grounding into double plays and strikes out way too often.
Not conducive to success when you are facing every team's top 3 starters in the post season.

Boone is still trying to work Holmes into the reliever rotation.
Even vs Oakland, had to yank him after a hit and a walk in 8th inning.
Just give up, Boone!

I'll never understand this. Two men on...first and second...no outs....#9 hitter at bat.
Why would you not bunt ? Top of the order coming up ?
It makes no sense to me.

Stanton just struck out for the 4th time this game. Un f ing believable and he is coming off of 3 - 3 strike games. Boone is totally incompetent.

Only 3 more years of Stanton!!!
Another guy that better not see the batter's box in the playoffs.

Torres with another base running brain fart
Can't wait until he's gone.
Rojas holding him against what needed to be a perfect throw from a DH masquerading as a right fielder was the bigger error. Yes, once the ball was in the always aggressive Torres screwed up but I'd rather he screw up being aggressive than being conservative.

As for looking forward to his departure, there's many who think this way. None of you know what you're talking about but there are a lot of you. You'll get your wish as he'll become too expensive for a club that's going to need to cut salary to make every effort to re-sign Soto but he's going to make someone very happy.

Good riddance to Torres. He should have been dumped a long time ago. I don't care what he does somewhere else. Seen plenty to know that he can't perform here.

He leads MLB in errors as a second baseman.

He routinely screws up base running/half assing it.

Outside of the last 3-5 weeks, he's pretty much sucked all season.

And I questioned why Dominguez wasn't replacing Verdugo....who absolutely can't hit ?
He should be replacing Stanton.

I think it's easier playing corner outfield.

Just don't understand his problem.

He's been pretty bad.

Pretty bad is a huge understatement, at least 3 uncaught pop flies that every major league fielder has to make 99.9% of the time & he missed all 3.
True. But they can't keep running "Ground Ball To 2nd Base" Verdugo out there.

Let's see. No true 1st baseman. No true 2nd baseman, no third baseman, No left fielder. no right fielder. Cashman has to go.

Where did THIS Stanton come from?

And we're getting close to it being safe enough to bring Holmes in for his "3 batter minimum"!
