OT: 2024 NY Yankees Season Thread

Count me in on being happy with winning the division, having Cole pitching well, Judge hitting the cover off the ball and bring close to getting the top seed.

I'm pumped for the playoffs. Hoping to monitor the game tonight while sitting in the Provident club with @T2Kplus10, giving him a chance to tell me how much Cashman sucks.

Just now sitting down to watch Judge go for
60 home runs for the second time. He has 5 in the last 5 days. Giving himself 58. So guess what. they give him the night off. With a week
off just ahead. Morons. How often does a Yankee hit 60 twice in a career,?

Obviously you did not watch him going for the record last year and the impact on his play during the playoffs! Is 60 home runs important? More important than the playoffs ?

I don't believe he had the first round off last year , he could have been DH these three games.

I still can't believe this team currently has the best record in the AL?

Looking at the flaws...strike out too much, lead MLB in hitting into double plays, not a strong bullpen, 2nd and 3rd base are terrible defensively, left field a weak spot offense and defense, Volpe strikes out too much, baserunning is abysmal...
Incredible.

So you think hitting a mean less 60 home runs is more important?? Couch coach.

We just gave up the lead in this game to Pitt.
We need to win these games to keep the best
win loss record in the American league. Which
guarantees us home field advantage throughout.
So you think giving up home field advantage is
more important than him switching to DH for a few a days?

Name me the last time the #1 and #2 met in the conference final? Or World Series? The last two years the #6 went to the World Series

I'm assuming they're playing today? Beating Skenes is gonna be difficult without them. Home field advantage would be pretty huge, IMO.
When you look at the season stats, this team has a phenomenal road record and pretty meh at home.

Not sure it makes any difference.
But the problem is still too many strike outs against top line pitching.
And Gil is pretty much removing himself from any chance to being the #3 starter in post season.

JFC...This Warren guy absolutely sux!
I'm sure Boone was told to showcase him for trade bait this winter, but this looks like a lifer for the minor leagues.

Another gutless performance by the Cashman Bombers. I would say they will get sweep in the divisional round, but most other AL teams also suck. So, who knows?

I just don't see this team scoring too many runs in the post season because they strike out too much and can't advance runners...on top of being generally slow and bad baserunners.
They only win if the starting pitching is "lights out".

Hope I'm wrong.

With the Phillies winning, the Yankees have nothing for which to play.
If the Yankees get to the WS,both the Phillies and the Dodgers would have home field.

Yankees path to the World Series just got easy, at least mentally. Astros bounced by Detroit. Glad to see them on the sidelines now!

The Astros are my most hated team right now, so this is a great day.
Houston and Baltimore gone! Easy road to the World Series now. Oh wait, this is a Cashman team. We will likely hit into 26 double plays and get swept by KC.

Foolish talk. It all mental to think that the Astros and Orioles were top teams. The hot teams win.
