The logic is.....Cashman, Boone, and their beloved analytics are stupid.I'm still trying to figure out the logic of walking Devers with no one on base???

IMO the walk to O'Neill was the problem. Followed by the ball down the left field line barely fair by Yoshida.I'm still trying to figure out the logic of walking Devers with no one on base???
Cole, Rodon, Cortes.Give me some ideas...What's the pitching rotation for the post season based on the current performance?
Most teams use a three man rotation, I believe.
Boone's gonna have some tough decisions to make.Cole, Rodon, Cortes.
Cole is the GUY no matter what the situation is. and, any given game, he can go 7 inn 3 hit 10 k 1 run - it does put Boone in a tough situation- "headcase" does not apply to someone like Cole- it is either physical or mechanical. But maybe- he needs some sort of break or maybe just go with the confidence. That is most likely the only real way to go with Cole.Boone's gonna have some tough decisions to make.
Right now, Cole is not pitching anywhere near good enough to be a top 3 pitcher.
And I think he's a "headcase" right now with no confidence as exhibited in his decision to intentionally walk Devers.
He might go ballistic if not the SP1 or SP2.
Personally, I'd go Rodon, Cortez, and Gil.
Cortez needs to pitch in Yankee Stadium.
I seriously doubt Boone has a clue, in his interview, he said they talked about it all week. The logic is.....Cashman, Boone, and their beloved analytics are stupid.
This season, currently????I can't believe that it's even a question with some Yankees fans as to whether or not Cole is the Yankees best pitcher.

get out of here with facts- they always ruin good stories lolI think you might be a bit harsh on Cole based on his last outing/recency bias and a bad outing against the Red Sox. Note that all pitchers tend to have bad outings, even Cy Young winners
He's started 15 games this year since coming off the IL.
He had 3 stinkers early on during his return to the mound after IL - this adversely impacted his ERA. However recently it's hard to judge him solely on one outing as it seems as if he's returning to form.
- Only given up over 3 earned runs 4 times in those starts.
- Conversely he gave up 2 or less earned runs 10 times this season in 15 starts.
- In his prior 7 starts to the Red Sox game he had a 1.6 ERA with an average of 5 2/3 innings with 47 strikeouts (1.2 per inning) & 12 BB's (1.7 per start).
Also note that from an effectiveness standpoint (IMO) Cortez would probably be better than Cole out of the Penn. He might make a great lefty specialist - who can also go long on innings in the playoffs
Weaver hadn't pitched since Saturday.Holmes is a BUM! Freakin idiot
Schmidt and Stroman will probably be in the pen too.Cole, Rodon, Cortes - Gil from the bullpen for multiple innings.
Holmes is always good for.....Clay Holmes doing Clay Holmes stuff.
He should only be pitching when they're up 8 runs or down 8 runs.
Noticed the Orioles released Craig Kimbrell.Holmes is always good for.....
He can’t be on the playoff roster.Noticed the Orioles released Craig Kimbrell.
NYY should release Holmes.
Seattle hitters struck out 32 times in those three games.I hope Brian Cashman was watching today's game to see what a "closer" looks like, as in Seattle's!
And just noticed, the NYY struck out 37X in a three game series.
That's a problem in the playoffs.
They would have probably lost a game if J-Rod wasn't a freakin' idiot. It works both ways.Seattle hitters struck out 32 times in those three games.
BTW, Seattle has the best team ERA in MLB.
And the Yankees won two of the three games. They would have won all three if their left fielder could catch the friggin ball.
Cashman prefers the home run hitter, over the contact hitter, thus the strike outs that comes with it.I hope Brian Cashman was watching today's game to see what a "closer" looks like, as in Seattle's!

Looking at the lineup it's hard to believe he prefers the home run hitter.Cashman prefers the home run hitter, over the contact hitter, thus the strike outs that comes with it.
Cashman thought they were all HR hitters, but since he sucks at his job, they are not.Looking at the lineup it's hard to believe he prefers the home run hitter.
Have you seen Trevino, Rizzo, Torres, Volpe, Verdugo mashing this season ?

Don't forget Stanton, who once again struck out last nite with a runner on 3rd with <2 outs!Looking at the lineup it's hard to believe he prefers the home run hitter.
