OT: A's could be moving

In my opinion, the internet is what happened to "no comment". Everyone thinks their opinion matters and that others need to hear it. Social media just proliferated this to a point that it is unbearable. In the good old days, the internet was just for porn.
What is sad:
no matter what sports related issue posted here, there are those willing to hijack and turn the subject into a political issue whether or not the original subject had a political connection.

Brg, couldn’t agree more about staying away from negative people. I will also include negative and depressing outside influences. This July will be five years since my Mom died, three weeks after getting a clean bill of health. It finally hit me how life is short and you never know when it is your last day. I made a conscious effort right there. I have not read a newspaper, magazine, or watched TV news since that day. The only things I really follow are sports and once in a while weather. The only reason I hear about corona is from one sister who is semi obsessed with it due to health concerns with her husband. I do not follow current events or politics at all. I see people frothing at the mouth about all kinds of things and I am so glad I have not exposed myself to whatever they are going on about. What is even better is that when people try to drag you into one side of something or another, I just tell them I have no interest and I either change the subject or walk away. Life is a lot better. I don’t know what ever happened to people saying no comment, we will have to agree to disagree, you are entitled to your own opinion or just walking away. One sunset is worth more than a lifetime of media consumption.
During my illness and year of surgeries I made a conscious effort to screen out a lot of negativity, like political news and people on my facebook feed who only ever complain and vent and are never positive. It literally made my head hurt when I was at a very low point. It really makes you more upbeat to mostly focus on nice things, dreams, etc. Right now I study French. I think the internet allowed a lot of people's negativity to creep into our lives when we didn't ask for it and people got used to it, not realizing that it's so unhealthy.

Yes, people are being exposed to others on the internet that they would never allow to actually come into their home, talk to on the phone, speak to in real life, or allow within 20 miles of their children.

To get back to baseball - would be first four city team in my memory (yes I’m old enough to remember the Philadelphia Athletics). Missed the Boston Braves by a year, or they would be three cities. Dodgers, if you count there few games in Jersey City would be three cities..

Hoq, does any pro sports team match the Rams and Raiders?

Rams—Cleveland, Los Angeles, Saint Louis, Los Angeles, Inglewood

Raiders—San Francisco, Oakland, Los Angeles,Oakland, Las Vegas

The two teams with the most name changes is the Atlanta Braves and the LA Dodgers. 7 different names each.

WhiteBus, I was referring to towns, not names. —How many names did the NHL team in Oakland have lol I think they were the California and Oakland Seals and Golden Seals with almost every variation. The Angels and Americans/Nets also with a bunch of names.

Yes I know. Was just pointing out the name change leaders.

I was only thinking baseball, don’t think anyone else matches the 5 cities per your list. Didn’t know Rams were ever in Cleveland - do remember the NFL Cardinals being in Chicago when I was a kid.

Because it’s California and they’re broke. People are leaving the state at record pace for multiple reasons. Politics, cost of living, taxes you name it.
Oakland is a dump. I’m sorry but it’s not a nice city. The city has refused for decades now to do anything about the stadium. It’s best the A’s move out of state.
In most instances cities should not be building these stadiums.

A domed stadium in Las Vegas will give them year round NFL and MLB sports that fuels their casino and tourism business. A’s will be a big draw in LV, like the Raiders.
This might be one of a very limited number of cities where it is worthwhile for the city to build the venue.

Actually the odds are zero. Between the NY teams and Phillies the entire state rights are spoken for.
When Uberoth (sp) was the commissioner he said that the NJ Sports Authority made the best case to get a team but they were blocked.

I believe it was the Pirates looking to move

Not surprisingly if you look at the most expensive tickets for the upcoming NFL season on the secondary market, almost every one is a Vegas game. Only the Bucs - Patriots is selling higher. It’s Vegas baybay!
