OT: Bob Huggins

If Huggins is let go, that might be a landing spot for Knight. Not far from Pitt where he played. Need to give Knight a raise fast.

I like Huggy but don’t think that he can survive this one after being in the news recently saying homophobic slurs towards Xavier students from years ago.

Leave of Absence to address substance abuse problem will first happen.
If interim replacement (Ron Everhart)has a good year he's gone.
If WV playing poorly, Huggins cured and returns.

I'll be impressed if Huggins is still head coach at noon Monday. He and the school president, reportedly, have a rocky relationship.

This is potentially the 2nd job he would have lost due to his drinking. I hope he gets help.

Then this could be the end if the President was looking for an excuse to dump him because of a bad relationship between them but never had a good enough reason and with this arrest and the slur he used not to long ago that upset a lot of people and resulted in him taking a pay cut ..
Because of the light punishiment he recived for his ugly commet, aI figured he was in good graces with WV's and they wouldn't just dump him but keep him on sideline to return if the team lost without him but let him go if all went well in order to appease public opinion

Agreed

He’s been doing this for years .
Will get another shot and be successful

He turns 70 in September. He has a reputation as a drinker, has two DUIs on his record (well over the line in both cases), has drawn controversy with comments off the court, has a 35-44 conference record and one tourney win in the last five years. Probably doesn’t get another opportunity.

One name that keeps popping up in my texts and DMs for WVU is Jerrod Calhoun. He spent five years at the program as the director of basketball operations and then as an assistant for a season.

Andy Kennedy makes more sense to me tho.

Top assistant Ron Everhart has been on staff at West Virginia as an assistant since 2012. I could see him being named interim head coach. He'd be in a good position to keep the roster together for a season and auditioning for the HC job while WVU spends time conducting a search/vetting guys etc.

A .210 is hammered anywhere lol. You're talking about a bac that would incapacitate anyone who's not a heavy drinker.
When I was in court 26 yrs ago. There was a dude .41 and the cop told me he couldn't even tell he was drunk outside of the smell of booze & eyes. That cat must have been a 7 day guy hitting em hard every day

you know he's close to 1000 and that will be enough temptation to return after a break of one year while he acts like a sports network talking head.
His coaching ability is enough to have a top program contact him for help and him getting his 1000 W there would be icing on the cake for any program that grabs him.

Read the police report and it's pretty bad. Garbage bag full of empties in the car, no idea what city he was in etc.

Hopefully he gets help
This could have been A LOT worse.

He reportedly drove through heavy Taylor Swift concert traffic & hit a curb which damaged the vehicle's tire causing him to eventually stop driving.
I liked his press defense, but man is this stupid. It’s not like he doesn’t have the money to call an Uber. I don’t get it.
Depending on where you are, Uber rides aren't readily available.

Reportedly, his trip included a driver but something changed with the plans and the driver was unavailable.

Anyway you look at it, this whole thing didn't need to happen. By the grace of God nobody was injured or killed by Huggins. Himself included.

That could’ve been really bad say if he drunkenly drove through that pedestrian area near the stadium. And Uber or Lyft probably would’ve been difficult to get with that show going on. Either way, he needs to be off the road.
