OT: Duke vs. Yale Today - Funny Stuff

There's a lot of jealousy and white guilt in that article...and it's funny to read especially in an over-hyped rag like huffpo![roll]

Weird thing is most a lot of Duke students will be broke after college in debt. Things arent the way they once were.

Wasnt there some Duke porn girl that had to do it to pay tuition a couple years back.

I believe the Ivy tuition is close to free now for families under 60k a year.

Duke has been very effective and generous in providing financial aid (i.e. "free tuition and board") to academically gifted, deserving students, not unlike many IVs.

As much as I've always disliked Duke....and continue to dislike their athletic programs...after watching the Duke Lacrosse 30 for 30, you realize pretty quickly that the 'privileged' kids were the best people in that whole sordid affair, and it wasn't even close.

All the academics, social dividers, and others who were more than happy to pronounce guilt to advance their agendas, while the truth and lives of three kids were viewed as acceptable collateral damage.

To get to Duke or Yale, you have to do something right along the way (even if being born into the right family helps in terms of resources, parental involvement, expectations, etc) and we really should be holding them up as a symbol of things gone right than deride them as privileged and entitled punks.

Oh...and get off my lawn.

And those kids continue to help those who can't help themselves in those situations. Good kids indeed.

Just something else for a different segment of the 1%, the HuffPo crowd, to look down their noses at. But some of the tweets are indeed funny.
