OT: Michigan makes stunning $10.5 million NIL offer to flip No. 1 QB recruit Bryce Underwood from LSU

NFL 2.0 eventually
Can't be a little pregnant
Schools can be owners like Packers owned by GB
Make a few million and get suspended for grades?
Lol.

Interesting - wonder if schools go the academy route and privatize their ADs so they can seek external funding and treat players like employees.

It’s a little misleading when you see 10 million and it’s over 4 years. Yes 2.5 per year would be out of control but there has to be a no play no pay portion of the contract.
What about injury insurance.

$2.5 per doesn’t sound crazy. But yeah what if he enters the draft?

If this was for a HC, people would be cheering and doing backflips.

CFB has always been about the rich using their outside money to take advantage of programs with less outside money.

Nothing new here.
Wake me when people want to ban all donor money (including to Atheltic Departments to steal coaches) and not just donor money going to players.

I know nobody cares, but I just went from 2 inches to being completely done with all this bullshit to 1 inch.
I'm with you. The absurd will continue to get more absurd as the Richie Riches of the world toss their money at college athletes.

I am also with you. This season is the last all in season for me. Need to be a casual fan going forward, until something changes with the $$ ruining what we once knew as college sports.

This will certainly make more youth to play football. I mean if you’re tall and have decent size, why play lacrosse when you can potentially be a tight end or receiver etc.

I haven't seen TE's or receivers get offers like this. Their NIL is surely better than lacrosse would provide but there are again limited spots open. And at the HS level you can play both sports. And a valid argument can be made that there is a benefit to playing multiple sports.

They make pills for that problem

All I’m saying is the money thrown around football and basketball will lead kids to those sports even more and the parents will certainly push.

LSU is going to smoke Michigan in the funds department. Why take 2.5 a year when you can 4 in year one in the SEC down here in the SOUTH
