Venables' buyout of $ 44mil plus change might be the only thing that saves his job if the Midshipmen win.
Brent might just have to go Florida State's Mike Norvell's route and dig in his own pocket and add to the Sooners NIL Funds in an attempt to appease an angry fan-base

They just uppped/extended his contract for no reason this past summer. I have no idea what possesses these ADs to throw around money for no reason.

Syracuse in a better bowl than Rutgers makes me wonder if the move to the Big 10 will ever payoff in a meaningful way

Sure more $$$ but what does that even mean
As far as college sports is concerned, money is just a means to an end not the end itself.

Obviously, it’s helpful in reaching that end. I’ve said many times here when people make fun of the ACC/B12 that schools there will have the opportunity and potential to achieve good goals there that they haven’t in a long time or ever. They are largely competing with schools of similar resources.

The place where being in the P2 will help is the ability for the schools to find the money to pay players. It’s a group of 34 whose revenue will far outpace the other conferences. So it’s easier to find money for NIL that’s coming from the school to pay to keep and/or obtain players.

well one payoff might be not worrying if the conformance will last.
Haven't heard any B1G programs claiming the conference isn't good enough for them .
North Carolina a ACC program like Syracuse is playing UConn so if your implication being a ACC member
would be a better fit for Rutgers is true, maybe Rutgers would have played their 2024 bowl game at Fenway and some RU fans would be wondering if Rutgers should have went B1G instead of joining the ACC
Syracuse's opponent is in the PAC and the Pac is looking for members , that might be something for Rutgers to think about if the B1G is too tough of a challenge to compete in .
Hell there was a time the Big East was too tough .
I'll jusat say if Rutgers fans feels the B1G is too big and bad for them, look Indiana's way and know winning in the B1G isn't a hopeless task and feel good about that.
Schiano might not be the man who leads Rutgers to the promased land, but I feel he can build the program into one that a right hire replkacing him will be able do that trick

Syracuse went 9 and 3 and beat three ranked teams.
That's 2 ranked teams. UNLV-barely ranked and Miami (good for them). Georgia Tech never deserved to be ranked early in the season for beating that joke of a team Florida State. Syracuse also lost to a crappy Pitt who lost to a MAC team in their bowl and an abysmal Stanford.

christmas vacation GIF

Damn, refs completely threw the Georgia Tech game and the Georgia Tech head coach told his players to go **** up the other team (Vanderbilt) before being restrained by staff

I think they said WSU has 30 players in the portal. I don’t think they’ve hired a new coach to replace Dickert yet.

500yds of offense so far in the Arkansas TT game and still 11 mins in the 2nd qtr. 6 plays of 40+ yds between the 2 teams lol.

21-12 Arkansas up on TT

Just heard McCord is petitioning for another year. He'll probably get it from some dipsh*t judge, even though he already played four years. The courts at this point should just tell kids as long as they want to stay in college they can play.

McCord can sling the rock.
Still don't like him.
Yes… just set the ACC all time Single Season passing record. Sara in route to a 10 win season.
Not saying much tonight because WSU sucks. Lost their HC to Wake Forest and a bunch of players opting out: Starting QB, Starting LB’s, Starting OL, Starting DBs……

Don’t see how he can get. He played in 5 games in 2021. Eligibility exhausted. Loyal played in the same amount of games in 2021. Maybe he should appeal as well if McCord gets it.

Touchdown USC.
After a crazy Delay of Game penalty taken inside the 2, they score a TD on the next play. 35-31

I'm only sad because it blows my parlay.

If Coughlin (SU grad) was still with Giants he would love him (just like Ryan Nassib).
Ohio St has great QB castoffs who seem to make better pros than starters (Joe Burrow vs Haskins. Fields).
I never like Ohio St QBs for most part

It will be interesting to see how Fran Brown recruits this year.
Might heat sucking sounds from NJ and PA
