Ranking Iowa behind 3 loss Big 12 K State , and Tulane, Notre Dame, Arizona, and Oregon State is silly.
Iowa has 2 losses- Penn State and Minnesota (bad loss)
K State lost to OK State, who lost to S. Alabama, Iowas State and UCF. WTF?
Notre Dame lost to Clemson.
Arizona lost to Miss State and USC
Oregon State lost to Wash State.
I don't remember who played who and the margins of victory or loss etc.. But losses is just one metric. How you lost, who you lost to etc..matters but also how you won and who you beat etc.. as well.
Only thing you can say is that it's a ranking from a large group of people so you'd hope things would be smoothed out somewhat.
Like I said above, even an undefeated FSU might not make the CFP playoff over a 1 loss team depending on how the last couple weeks go. And that was before the Travis injury, which the committee does take into account. I think Washington will probably get into the top 4 this week.
Rankings are somewhat subjective by nature anyway but hopefully you can minimize that subjectivity because of the large group that contributes to them.
