Fantastic song! Adding album to ITunes. Thanks!!!!!The Wrecks have a new album out today which I am giving a listen to. They have some decent stuff. Album name is Sonder.
Example of a song I like:
They are in Asbury Park at Asbury Lanes on July 1. While "sold out", I just picked up 2 face value tickets from Stub Hub. That is a great venue, and if you have not been to Asbury Park, it is a lot of fun on a weekend night. Highly recommend having a drink on the top deck of the Asbury Hotel across the street. A lot of attractions/restaurants on the boardwalk, and tons of great restaurants on Cookman Ave.^^ yeah. They are decent. Debating seeing them in Philly next month.
Newest release:Been to AB many times — actually popped in after my kid’s soccer game last weekend near red bank. Never been to that venue - it is on the list.
You must have some pretty good alerts set up to catch new music, as this just came out. It's a cover of a 1982 punk classic by Cock Sparrer, but it's a great song to cover and they do it well. Saw TA a few months ago at White Eagle Hall, doing the Monitor in its entirety and was on the edge of the mosh pit, which my son was fully in - was fun to watch. Hope their new stuff is good...
Cock Sparrer- I saw that name on the credits--is that a real name or a pseudonym? 🤣You must have some pretty good alerts set up to catch new music, as this just came out. So I shared the song Sonder off the new album with a friend, and he asked me if he could bring his girlfriend and go with us. We paid $20 for the tickets, which are now over $100. The friend is going to Paul McCartney tonight, and paid $300 for nosebleeds. Frankly, I'd rather see a new, up and coming band in an intimate venue for $20 instead of shelling out $300 to see an 80 (almost) year old legend from a mile away. We plan to go, and we are excited. The new album is outstanding. Thanks again for posting.if, by chance, you can’t use the tickets - let me know. I just looked at stub hub and the prices are nuts for resale.

There are cheap tickets available for their NY and Philly shows.
While @bac2therac says rock is dead, The Wrecks are an excellent counter point to that narrative. The difference now is that you will not hear The Wrecks on FM Radio, but who listens to FM radio anymore?

Don't understand the need for the put down. But to counter your wrong point that you continue to repeat, rock is not dead. This Imagine Dragons video got 73 million views. Thunder got near 2 BILLION views. Their concert at PNC appears to be nearly sold out.
You can keep living in the past. There is lots of new rock music and bands out there, and while each may not suit all tastes, there are plenty of fans enjoying new rock music.all over MTV 39 years ago..wow, their first song to break big in the US even though Mad World hit it big elsewhere
what an exciting time for music. New wave was well under way and we were getting exposed to a whole new genre of music that didnt get played on the radio. The sheer variety of what you would see in a 1983 chart was insane..

Wonder if @SkilletHead2 has heard of this band, the members or knows them?
Nope. But music is big in NZ. All sorts.Wonder if @SkilletHead2 has heard of this band, the members or knows them?
"Elizabeth Stokes and Jonathan Pearce originally met in high school, and they met both Benjamin Sinclair and Ivan Luketina-Johnston when all four attended classes at the University of Auckland, studying jazz. Prior to The Beths, Luketina-Johnston was performing swing under the moniker of Sal Valentine. Stokes, Pearce and Sinclair were all a part of his backing band, The Babyshakes, for various tenures."
I guess that it on "the other end" of New Zealand from where you are.Nope. But music is big in NZ. All sorts.
The “Rock is Dead” lament has been around just about as long as Rock music has existed. The tragic plane crash in 1959 that took the lives of Buddy Holley, Richie Valens and JP “Big Bopper” Richardson resulted in an early obituary for the musical genre. Referred to as “The Day The Music Died”. Holly in particular was regarded as the future, a fabulously talented and creative musician. Later at the end of the 1960s with the demise of The Beatles followed by the deaths of Jimi Hendrix,Janice Joplin and Jim Morrison over the 1970-1971 period led to speculation that Rock was done. For people like me who grew up listening to the great era from 1965 - 1974, the direction of Rock waned with the death of John Lennon in 1980 and the demise (before later reformations) of bands like The Eagles, Led Zeppelin, The Allman Bros. Band, The Doobie Brothers etc seem to signal the beginning of the end in the 1980s. Again with the deaths of talented musicians and songwriters like Stevie Ray Vaughan and Kurt Cobain in the early 1990s seemed to seal the fate of Rock. Today, Rock may never attain the overall popularity it once had but there is a lot of organic, good rock music being made by young people. There are more ways then ever to find it if people look for it. In the end, it’s not about fame and fortune, it’s about new music being made that has meaning and helps people.Posting Imagine Dragon vids is exactly what I mean by saying rock is dead...
