If this is the case-, then a true 3/75 is a fair offer. I’m not sure that either side is telling the truth.Boras knows the answer to this question already since he represented him: Soto.
But either way, that's not a legit counter when he literally has no other suitors. The Mets will try the youth movement and then pivot around the trade deadline if needed. From what I read, the Mets are willing to overpay by 2/3 million per year that amounts to 24/25 million a year with opt outs, not 30+ a year.
Gold glove and an MVP.How would the Mets treat Keith Hernandez during talks for a new contract? Would they devalue his WAR as a way not to give him his worth? IMO, 1B is undervalued when think about it. A good 1B makes the infield look great if he handles the throws.
How this one?Just about everything you post in here is a waste of bandwidth..
They would’ve told Hernandez to hit with a launch angle or he’d be out of baseball in 3 yearsHow would the Mets treat Keith Hernandez during talks for a new contract? Well at least this one is about baseball. Even if it doesn't really relate to the Mets. How this one?
Santander was harmed greatly by the increased dimensions of Camden Yards, hitting only.218 at home last season.

Interesting vote progression for Wagner. His first year on the ballot (2016) he only got 10.5% of the vote. The next year it actually went down to 10.2%. But it went steadily up each year after that, and he made it in his final year of eligibility.Feel good for Wagner. Good guy.
To me the interesting one to watch is Andruw Jones. 66.2% after eight years.Wagner, Ichiro, CC into the HoF. Looks like Beltran should get in next year.
LOL at SNY's scroll reporting tonight. On their scroll, they referred to Ichiro as a "former Yankee". A true statement, but really?Wagner, Ichiro, CC into the HoF. Looks like Beltran should get in next year.
David Wright? Too bad about the injury. He’s not getting in.Interesting vote progression for Wagner. His first year on the ballot (2016) he only got 10.5% of the vote. Will Wright have a similar progression? He is at 8.1% after two years. IMO, in order to have a shot, he will need to be at 25% after four years and 50% after seven.
Wright was a good player but not a HOFer. Too bad his injuries prevented him from becoming one.Interesting vote progression for Wagner. 100% about length of time playing healthy. His first 6-7 years were about as good as it gets.Wright was a good player but not a HOFer. Too bad his injuries prevented him from becoming one.
Yeah if his back doesn't give out he is well on his way to HoF. The other thing was the dumb ass Wilpons having Citi designed the way they did. They took his biggest strength with the bat with his corner power and made it 10X more tough on him moving those walls back even further. Shea was a pitchers park and when Citi opened it became even more cavernous.100% about length of time playing healthy. His first 6-7 years were about as good as it gets.
Yeah that's a bit ridiculous! I didn't even remember that he played 2 years with the Marlins also.LOL at SNY's scroll reporting tonight. On their scroll, they referred to Ichiro as a "former Yankee". A true statement, but really?
I still remember Fred Wilpon saying that, while he's not a baseball expert, he does know pitching, and then opening Citi Field with that enormous field. Dumb move. They did a nice job moving in the fences a couple of times, and it's a great stadium. So he got that right. And selling the team. He got that right too.Yeah if his back doesn't give out he is well on his way to HoF. The other thing was the dumb ass Wilpons having Citi designed the way they did. I'd say Hernandez, Reyes, Beltran, Delgado, Strawberry all have much stronger cases for the HOF than Wright due to his short window of productivity due to the injuries.Wright was a good player but not a HOFer. Too bad his injuries prevented him from becoming one.
I do think that with guys like Rolan and Ozzy in the HOF- Hernandez should be in. David, Straw and Jose all had 6 great years that are HOF worthy. So similar but all three are good players but not HOF.I'd say Hernandez, Reyes, Beltran, Delgado, Strawberry all have much stronger cases for the HOF than Wright due to his short window of productivity due to the injuries.
Delgado was one and done. In 2015, his first year on the ballot, he only got 3.8% of the vote. Adios.I do think that with guys like Rolan and Ozzy in the HOF- Hernandez should be in. Delgado- you made me look and I have to really ask how the hell is he not in the HOF. He had 11-12 great seasons.
His 162 game average over 17 years is 99 runs, 38D 38HR 120 RBi .280. .373 .929Delgado was one and done. In 2015, his first year on the ballot, he only got 3.8% of the vote. Adios.
It's a shame he didn't make the initial 5% cut. If he had, I think he would have built up momentum. Probably wouldn't have made it, but would've been in the conversation.
By contrast, Andruw Jones barely survived his initial year (2018) with 7.3% of the vote. And he has a great chance to make it before his eligibility expires in 2027.

Who was the as$wipe that voted against Ichiro? Was it only to keep him from matching Rivera's unanimous HOF ballot or did he really think he didn't deserve it? To me this is a real pus$y move that the writers allow this- - The identity of the lone voter who did not select Ichiro wasn't immediately known. BWAA Voters decide whether they want their votes to be listed publicly. Have some nads, state your name and tell us the reason you did this.Wagner, Ichiro, CC into the HoF. Looks like Beltran should get in next year.
Until Rivera, no one had been unanimous. And unless you're declaring Rivera by far the best player in the history of baseball, it's been unfair for decades. Babe Ruth wasn't unanimous. Lou Gehrig. Tom Seaver. It goes on and on. It's almost tradition of silliness.Who was the as$wipe that voted against Ichiro? It is weird unless all of these guys are talking before voting. What is half of them decide to be just that one guy leaving him off the vote. There should have been 50 unanimous HoF by now.Until Rivera, no one had been unanimous. 100% agree. When you think of all the greats in fielding, pitching, hitting for average and power it's insane there haven't been more. To take it a step further, those that should be in the HOF but didn't play nice with the press is another piece of bullspit. It is weird unless all of these guys are talking before voting.
