OT: New York Yankees 2022-2023 Off Season Thread

No walking away. Judge is way too valuable to the Yankees.
Pay the man.
No way do you pay judge what sf offers . What did judge do in the playoffs that’s all that matters , not home runs in the regular season . You can get much better depth and talent with that judge money

So it looks like the Yankees can't help themselves by leaking some details about Judge's offer. 8 years $300 million. Judge was not happy when Yanks announced the offer last spring that he turned down. Giants reportedly offered yesterday.
Rumors from almost everywhere is this will be complete by next week during the winter meetings which start Sunday.

Very reasonable offer. No problem with how the Yanks have handled this negotiation.

I think it reasonable for both parties. Don't like that it was leaked. After the failed attempt in the spring, which was an embarrassment by the Yankees, they stepped up.
It's all going to come down to how far is SF willing to go.
Needs to get finished soon. Seems everyone is waiting to see where the market is set with Judge.

I think the Yanks know Judge is likely gone to SF and they want to save face with the fan base by showing them how strong an offer they put on the table. Hence the leak.

I don't think they know he is gone. Seems many writers think Yankees hold the edge but I agree about why it was leaked.
The preseason numbers leak backfired on them. Everyone knew they were low balling him. This offer is nearly $100 million more. I don't think many Yankees fans will complain if he doesn't take it for a higher Giants deal.
Yankees issue is they have a lot of bad contracts they can't unload. Hicks, Donaldson and Stanton. Giants have plenty of space to go crazy with an offer.

I don't think it changes averages all that much- guys going for money are going launch angles and velocity. You strike out 150+ in 500 AB's- your average just isnt going to be good. There are exceptions but in a whole- are the guys going for LA and V going to now try to just make contact?

It will change by some unknow degree - it may be more than you think.

Judge knows it was the Yankees
that picked him #32 in the draft. I know loyalty
has gone to waste these days, but I have
my fingers crossed. hopefully he wants to
be part of the Yankee legend with Mantle, Ruth,
Berra, Dimaggio and so on, like Jeter knew
he wanted be part of Yankee lore. If not
screw him.

There's no reason to leak it now because they can just leak the terms after he signed in SF. I have no idea where the leak came from, but if the Yankees did it, they sure are dense because it will have proven they didn't learn from the last time.

You still have to be carefully. Yanks don’t make the playoffs without him- and just his merchandise alone if worth a ton.
Let me ask- if you have a 10 y/o Yankee fan and he wants a jersey for X-Mas, Judge isn’t a Yankee- who, on this team are you buying for him? Cole, Nester C, Stanton?

I thought I also heard that though he grew up in SF, he was a Yankee fan.
Also, why would he want to go to a team that basically has no one else on the team?

Do you realize how many fans filled seats
at the stadium to see Judge. It was not to see
a team with less than a 220 batting average.
The Yanks made the play offs because he carried the team.

So true.
Besides if he leaves what are the Yanks gonna do with The Judge's Chambers ?

Judge should be able to capitalize on the "off the field" stuff better in NY than SF.

I think signing Rizzo also helps keep Judge.

And really...other than notoriety, this is more $$$ than he can spend anyway.

Within two years, someone else will surpass his salary. Maybe Shohei?

Well, we finally got a big signing for the Yankees....three year deal for Cashman.
So everyone can now calm down.

Hopefully that means ownership is feeling good about Judge. Cause if they eff this up, Cashman would have been a good fall guy.

Man, with the stupid money getting thrown around right now, the Yanks will looks pretty damn cheap if they don't get Judge because they won't throw in a 9th year.

Typical troll. Where do you come up with this crap?? He grew up a Giants fan. Big fan of Bonds. Predicted he would in "10 years he would marry his long time girlfriend and play for the Giants" He is halfway there marrying her last off season. Never can count on Mets fans for being smart.

Read what I said "I thought I also heard that though he grew up in SF, he was a Yankee fan." - I want to say it may have been on the FAN but not sure - So- for those challenged, I said that "I thought I also heard" - I did not say it was fact.
And so far from trolling...It was in conversation with nothing negative, actually, it was Yankee positive.
There are times, and I am not going to say it is you- that some people are blinded by ignorance. Take it how you want to.

My post had nothing to do with trolling and I actually compliment that you did not do your usual trolling after deGrom went to the Rangers- but if you want to see real trolling, rather than a positive post, you may want to check out your Yankee brothers...
Some people can be rwal idiots.

We are smart enough not to be Yankee fans.

BTW- I wrote what I had heard on Thursday...your brilliance of knowledge came from an article written today. I see why it took you so long to write your brilliance, because you did not even know until just this morning.
WB has known this forever but just wanted to wait until someone else wrote a story on it. haha

Go read the Yankee season thread idiot. I've said it many times. And you know it. You just wanted to be a Mets troll
.
you are sort of like the new puppy we just got- he gets 50 "no's" everyday and yet, he still is going to go try to chew on his own crap... actually, the cord coming down from my PC but crap sounded better. lol

Funny coming from a Mets fan trolling in a Yankees thread. You are the puppy who can't hold it in and takes dumps all over the place. 😁😁

let's make a deal- you ignore me and you cannot have your infant brain think everything I say is trolling and I will ignore you because you are stupid and no longer worth an effort at all. I will kindly engage good conversation with other real baseball fans. 😜

I'll make a deal. You admit you lied about Judge being a Yankee fan just to stir the pot. Also admit that it isnt the first time I brought up Judge growing up a Giants fan because we all know you always read all of the Yankees posts. You are on this thread more then the Mets thread. So start with my May post by me where I first brought up the subject about SF and the post below. Mets getting things wrong over and over again.

WhiteBus

Hall of Famer

They probably view setting that kind of precedent as bad for future cases.
Future cases and past cases will be resolved before a full spring training. This is different as we are already at 1/3 of the season played trying to figure out this years salary. Plus it's Judge who seems he knows his free agent value. Why would you want to piss off the face of your franchise? You saw what happened to Freeman. Got to free agency and went back home. Judge grew up in the shadow of San Fran as was a big fan of the Giants growing up. And San Fran has tons of money to spend next year

Love proving you wrong again and again!!! 🤣🤣🤣
