I'd kind of like to see McNeil and Lindor flip-flopped in the order. Nimmo hasn't been getting on base much and that would up the chance of Lindor and Alonso coming up with someone on base because McNeil is pretty consistent in getting his hits.

Without Marte- I am so f-ing confused why it isn't Nimmo/McNeil/Lindor/Alonso/Escobar/Cahna

Every f-ing day

Announcers were discussing Alonso's Home Run Derby prowess as though that were an actual thing of significance. It ain't.

I felt some kind of way about Lindor's last ab because that ball was definitely headed to center field. And I want to see him become that 2nd guy in the lineup with 100 ribeyes. 6 more to go in I think 17 games.

St. Lucie won again so they are going to FSL Championship Series! Brooklyn lost so they are tied 1-1 and I think next game will be winner take all to determine who goes to the South Atlantic League Championship Series. All Brooklyn and St. Lucie stats are playoffs only. Young Joel Diaz the star of the night striking out 11 in 6 innings. He is super young for the league and started off slow but has really come on as of late. Could be a fast riser in the system meaning maybe top 5 this time next year and a top 100 guy overall.

I wonder what happened to the S.D. Padres fan that was posting here a lot around the time the Soto trade went down? He was selling the idea of the Padres having a chance to run down the Dodgers due to having so many games head to head remaining. Just looked.........they're 21 games behind.

They might even choke the WC away as well.

Some sad news. John Stearns just lost his battle with brain cancer. He was 71. You may recall his brave appearance at the Old Timers Game.

Let me phrase that differently. Cancer killed John Stearns, but he didn't lose. He did not allow the cancer to win.
Stearns was one of my all time favorite Met's- very underrated as well.

R.I.P. John Stearns. It was so sad to see him in that condition at old timer's day because I remember him as that rough and tough dude when he was playing. I've never forgotten the time when a rookie Bill Gullickson while pitching for Montreal gave up a home run to a Mets batter and then threw at the next batter. Next thing I know Stearns sprinted out of the dugout and grabbed Gullickson in a headlock and started dragging him around the infield. Dude didn't play.

This was a short clip but the action went on for a while because Stearns was yanking Gullickson around and wouldn't let him go even as the brawl escalated around him. I also remember him yelling at him at the same time.

BAD DUDE

This hits hard for me. I'm a lifelong Mets fan and a Buff just like Stearns. He played safety, and so did I. When the coaches and teammates found out I was a Mets fan and was a catcher at one time, they mocked me as a John Stearns wanna-be while at Colorado. I didn't care for the comparison, but now I'm cool with it. R.I.P. John Stearns... Go BUFFS!!!

Very sad! Always liked and respected the hell out of Stearns. He was a warrior on very bad Mets teams.
I was at Oldtimers Game and was saddened to see how Stearns looked.
RIP!

I was at that game ! If I recall , Gullickson threw at Jorgensen and almost hit him in the head. And Jorgy was beaned several years seriously hurting him. Stearns rushed Gulluckson from the dugout

I remember him back in the day. Reminds me today of those Disney movies with him being the only good player on those horrid Mets teams, waiting for the miracle to change that team around.
