This was a short clip but the action went on for a while because Stearns was yanking Gullickson around and wouldn't let him go even as the brawl escalated around him. I also remember him yelling at him at the same time.
I remember that well.

I also remember big Dave Parker plowing into Stearns on a play at the plate. Stearns held onto the ball, Parker was out and then Stearns got up and spiked the ball into the ground and sprinted to the dugout. I think Parker wound up with a fractured cheekbone on the play.

All true. Stearns was a full-on Bad Dude. Former defensive back at Colorado, he even had an incident and (near?) fight with Expo Gary Carter who used his elbow when trying to knock Stearns over at the plate. I think Steans held onto that one too. Stearns was afraid of nothing.

Any word on Marte and when he will possibly return? I read recently he’s still experiencing pain with his finger. Hope he returns shortly.

Wasn’t watching game. But I can tell there was bad blood at last nights game. McNeil was hit twice by the same pitcher and you can’t tell me otherwise that 2nd HBP wasn’t intentional. Plus don’t forget Marte HBP was against Pirates. Most importantly is Pete ok?

Glad it got Alonso on his arm pad and not the hand or wrist. If the Mets should have a comfortable lead late some retribution for all of the HBP wouldnt surprise me. Remember this is the team that hit Marte also. Just can't afford to do it now with the warnings given.

Of course we have missed out on numerous chances to open the game up.

After the Phillies tied the Braves 1-1 the Phiilies changed relievers even though the previous one had faced only 1 batter, having struck out Austin Riley with 2 men on. The new pitcher then surrendered the go-ahead home run right away.

This is the kind of game we've lost far too often in September. When we've failed repeatedly with RISP. But we absolutely need to get this win with the Phillies lying down like dogs and the Braves hosting the Nats next(sweep) while we have to go on the road to Milwaukee who is playing well of late.
