McCann has a slight wrist injury. Taking today off maybe more, maybe not.

Padres and Cano are working on a deal.

Shift are you McCann's agent?
I'm his boyfriend. 😬

I think that this platooning of McCann/Nido is not good for consistency. Both have been dreadful at the plate.
While others disagree, and I may be in the minority, I think he is better defensively, and he has performed at a higher level in the majors. Of course, I could be proven wrong.

Every team splits playing time among their catchers because its the most demanding position on the field for obvious reasons. Less so if their catcher happens to be a key cog in the lineup such as Salvador Perez or J.T. Realmuto which of course is not the case for us.

Nido gets a big hit !
Cant pitch worse and only give up 3 runs
No idea where strike zone is.
Keith asked if it was right by this kid to have him up in the majors . He doesn’t belong anywhere near a major league mound right now.

no one ever longed for d'Arnaud when he left
True, but many questioned the wisdom of the Mets cutting him loose.

You may recall that as a Met, d'Arnaud could never stay healthy. (Still can't.) He missed almost the entire 2018 season. Being arbitration eligible, the speculation was that the Mets would non-tender him. Instead they offered him arbitration and non-tendered Wilmer Flores, which angered the entire fanbase.

Then just two weeks into the season, after d'Arnaud got off to a slow start, the Mets cut him loose and paid his guaranteed salary.

One of several questionable BVW decisions that year.

BVW is the gift that keeps on giving. 🤬
It pays to be the neighbor of an idiot owner.
As Forest Gump would say, "Stupid is as stupid does."

Thank god we as Mets fans can live by another Forest Gump saying:
"Mama always said you've got to put the past behind you before you can move on."
So far, we've moved on, and I can't be any happier.

Jared Kelenic coming to Citifield this weekend. Will we see a Diaz vs Kelenic AB with the game on the line ?

only good things BVW did was bring in Davis and not trade away our young major league ready guys like McNeil, Nimmo, Smith. Bringing Cano in on the Diaz deal and not getting Seatle to eat a good amount of his $$$ was his biggie, of course. At least Diaz is starting to be a plus and Kelenic has not lit it up as the next Trout.

I used to really like him and his grit. But he has turned me off ever since he basically begged for a qualifying offer, appearing that he wanted to stay and then jumped ship. This was an unnecessary shot but maybe he has some animosity to the Mets for reasons the public is not aware.
I continue to wait for him to have his Andre Agassi moment and choose to shave his hair, which he’s made his signature, because he’s losing it.
