Okay I left the game to take a shower when it was 8-4 Giants and Stephen Nogosek in for mop up dutye. After all I have get up at 5:45am for work. So what did I miss? 😅 This is crazy!!!!
Smith starting to worry me because he's starting to look like last year's Drew Smith. Think he's surrendered long balls in like 3 of his last 4 appearances. Sure would like to know why Buck didnt have Rodriguez ready to face Pederson.
Death by shift. Great game though. Even better if we'd won. Now time for my 4 hours of sleep. 😮💨
Sucks we gave it up after such a huge comeback. This team is far from perfect but it is also a team you have to watch. A lot of fun!
This year compared to others…this team does not give up intil the last out. And as fans/ we are starting to feel like every game, we are going to be the better team.

Mets give up 13 runs in 8.2 innings. In that space, they have a pitcher who gives up 0 runs in 2.2 innings. That's the guy who will almost certainly be sent down to make room for today's starting pitcher. Life is unfair.

It is kinda sad though. Szapucki was once one of the Mets prized prospects. Then came the arm trouble, surgery, and loss of velocity. He keeps chasing the dream, but it doesn't look like it's going to happen for him.

What was his pre-injury velocity? I can't see the game but following it online they listed his fastballs in he 94-95 range. of course they were also going back out at about 110mph.

Yes, Szapucki was the Mets best option. Surely you are not surprised! We all know the Mets have no MLB-ready pitching in the high minors. Same as last year, when we were treated to the likes of Jerad Eickhoff.
Keep in mind at that the start of the season, Szapucki was at best the Mets 11th starter.

Guaranteed to lose a game to one of the Phils or Braves in the wake of that Bay Area debacle. Just hard for me to decide who i should be cheering for between the two. I guess Philly because we play them next at home. So even if we were to lose ground we have the opportunity to get it right back head to head. Plus I dont even want to give the Braves any feeling that they're right there within striking distance. But alas it does appear that they will win tonight and close the gap to 7 games. I know one thing though. We need Megill back and back to his earlier form quick fast and in a hurry. Cause this pitching pickle we were in today is not at all sustainable.
