Megill bullpen sessions getting close to minor league rehab start

Degrom continues to slowly strengthen arm

max continues to eat metal chips as he stares in mirror not being able to do anything while oblique heals

Not counting Pete , DH combo has 1 HR and batting under 200

3B has struggled. Last 2 non covid seasons 35 and 28 HR

But team continues to win

couple rain outs while pitchers get healthy wouldn’t hurt
Max and Bassitt
Max and Jake
Jake and Cookie

there are plenty of guys dreading a double header 0-8 vs this staff

Mets got away with one last night. I hope that this is one of those wins that they would’ve lost in years past.

Got away with one? The Mets hurt themselves, which made that game close. Philly had several hits that didn't have an exit velo greater than 80 mph out of the infield. Remove the shift and may the inning ends earlier without the 3 run blast. Also, Cookie was punished by Buck taking him out when not one Philly hitter made solid contact. Meanwhile, the piss poor lefthand relievers continue to be up and down with each outing. The poor outing struck with a blast to make the game too close for comfort.

I'm tired of these specialists who can't get anyone out. Get guys who can get outs regardless of whether they are lefthanded or right. Analytics has a place in the game, but not to the point the nerds control the game.

Does anyone else hate the revival of the black uniforms? IMO it brings back the pain of losing the 99 NLCS and the Series in 2000.

The ‘86 throwbacks that they wore in the Syndergaard ejection game should be worn more frequently.

I hate black uniforms for any team for whom black is not their primary color. I find the blue numbering on the black jerseys to be very disconcerting.

Love the blues with the orange trim.

Braves already lost to Marlins behind 14 strokeouts by Sandy Alcantara. Be a good one to win tonight and extend the lead by a game on both them and the Phillies. Particularly with Wheeler tomorrow night.

Any interest in Dallas Keuchel? I have no idea how he's been pitching this season though. I suppose it cant be too great to be DFA'd before the end of May though.

Keuchel has not been good. Only 32 innings in 8 starts (4 innings per start). 7.88 ERA, 2.16 WHIP, as many walks as strikeouts (20).

Don't know what's wrong with him. He's never been a high velocity guy, so losing velocity could not have been his problem.

11 and 5
10 and 6
10 and 6
Through the first 3 16 game blocks

I break the season down in 10% blocks you want as many at 9 and 7 or above as possible

Who they play the next 16 games?
Dodgers, Padres, Angels out West. Prepare for some late nights again. Then I dont know who once they return home. Maybe the Marlins finally. What i do know for sure is that our NL East pursuers are hoping for a disastrous road trip for us. I on the other hand am looking for no worse that 4-5 out there.
