The four-pitch walk to Franco after not getting the call on what looked to be strike three to Choi was not what one expects from an elite pitcher. Game changer IMO.

Hicks, Gallo, and Higashioka are automatic outs. Weighing this team down.
And this guy Marinaccio needs to go back to the minors.
They could have swept the Rays....it was there for the taking.....a wasted opportunity.
And somebody please tell me why Mendoza-line Hicks isn't bunting with two on and no outs in the late innings of a one-run game. Brilliant.

I don't understand that the game of baseball has become a total analysis game. You can't just use numbers from the past. The use of the analytics is greatly flawed. The calculations are incomplete and for the most part irrelevant. WAR is the biggest joke there is. The game isn't called from the dugout. It is called from a report generated by a bunch of nerds that have zero athletic ability.

Oh, now I know why the player leading baseball
in home runs is batting 2nd and leading off and
having the eighth and ninth batting in front of him. We need to hire Ron Hunt to teach our players how to get on base. Do you remember what he lead baseball in every year?

Uh oh....."Thor" listed as the starting pither for the Angels vs. the Yankees in the Bronx on Tuesday.

Just took a quick look at the stats for the Yankee farm teams in Scranton and Bridgewater, and there doesn't appear to be any help for the offense. Hitting near 220 must be endemic.

.220 would be a welcome upgrade from what they're getting from Hicks, Gallo, and Higashioka.

At this point why would anyone even pitch to Judge and not just put him on by IBB?

The starting pitching continues to excel. This has been a long term positive and I've come to think that the next starter will pick up where the last guy left off. Now we just need the offense to be closer to what they were tonight more often (heck, I'll take scoring half of tonight's total on a regular basis).

Rained out tonight..... day/night double header tomorrow.
Ohtani vs. Cortes at 1 pm.

I was done for the night but saw this and had to come back.

Jim Kaat called our pitcher Nester the Molester during the Twins broadcast. WTF? LOL

Love Carpenter laying down the butt. FU shift!
The Yankees have done a great job the last few years of finding those old veterans that they can milk a few months of production out of to fill in voids in the roster. It's pretty remarkable.

Cashman's revised offer to Judge:

12 years
$1.1B

Good grief, how about dropping the arbitration case coming up? LOL.

But then you also have Joey Gallo, too many pitchers to list. Sonny Gray leads that group. And Stanton was and still is a stupid trade.
BTW on the flip side we have seen the last Andujar. Request a trade. He can be a good DH for someone

What I am thinking the Yanks sent Andujar down to make sure he gets his playing time.
Might be part of a trade. I doubt any one out
there wants Gallo, Hicks. or Stanton. I feel
the Yanks should just bite the bullet on Hicks and Gallo.

Yankees are stuck with Stanton. He has a no trade clause and the only other team he would agree to is the Dodgers. The Dodgers want nothing to due with him and that contract. Without him the Yankees could have paid him Judge. He will end up with the SF Giants next year as Freddie Freeman ended up with LA Dodgers. It is where they want to be.

Andujar wants nothing to do with the Yankees anymore

I don't blame him. But at this point the Yanks have the upper hand. I think after the all star game there will be big changes. I remember
long time ago it was common to make big changes after the break.
