He can actually hit the ball, BA nearly .100 higher. Doesn't strike out 40% of the time. Just 11 SO in 55 ABs.
I've been waiting for the Andujar of his rookie season to show up. I don't think that's gonna happen.
When Stanton returns Miguel will be back at Scranton.

I swear Abreu has to be the worst pitcher in the AL when it comes to allowing inherited runners to score.

Another dogshit reliever that will be pitching for somebody like the Cubs or Marlins next year.

The manager decided to bring in Abreu at that point in the game. Blame him.
And whoever decided to have him throw an off-speed pitch to Santana after he had blown two straight fastballs by him. An offspeed pitch right down the middle no less.
Makes it hard to figure why the Bronx Bombers were able to get Albert back so easily after dumping him earlier in the season.
I feel bad for Nestor.

And every other team is lucky that the Yanks are losing.
BTW, one suggestion I've heard for improvement is cutting Abreu, sending Loiasiga to Scranton, bringing up Schmidt and Marinaccio, and dropping Gleyber way down in the lineup. I also think they should call up Peraza, who could possibly add a spark to the offense.

Baltimore is benefitting but they were too far back in fact they’re still 2 back of Toronto
Toronto is the team that could’ve made a real run

You still need to worry about the playoffs more than you do who is behind you in the division. Almost no chance anyone catches you so you will most likely be the 1 or 2 seed in the playoffs.
The concern right now is can you know throw 3 starters in the playoffs you are confident in.
Cole has been so up and down- one day- lights out and the next, very hittable. Your current ACE looks to be NC and I think you should feel good with him. Everyone else is a crap shoot. And if the BP and closer don't get back to 1st half form, that has to be concerning.

This team won't do crap in the post season for the obvious reasons... Swing and miss ABs, too many double plays, the bullpen is shot, dumb baserunning, and no one to protect Judge.

German tries to put the skids to the losing streak tonight in Boston.... of all places.
Eovaldi goes for the last-place Bosux.

Holmes pre-Yankees:
5.57 ERA with 84 walks in under 120 innings

Good chance typical is between that and his first 1.5 Yankees’ years.
A classic closer needs to throw gas or be Mariano. It's clear at this point that Holmes' first half stats were a fluke.

He has zero confidence right now and Boone just mystifies me with some of his moves.

Up and down the lineup, outside of Judge, they seem to choke in big moments.

Things can change, but at this point, I wouldn't bet they can win in their first playoff series. Just a total shitshow right now.

Maybe it's time to move Chapman back to closer.
Or the guy they got from the Cubbies? How many more blown saves before Boone sees what everyone else does?

It's might be time for Boone to have another team meeting because they've played so well since the last one.

No It looks like Effross is the closer.
And IKF is gonna start hitting clean-up.
BTW, Hicks is absolutely useless with a bat in his hand.
And not as good in the field as people think.
He called off Judge then starred at the ball in his hand. Everyone yelled at him there was a
play At home. He let in the winning run.

Kiner-Falefa and Trevino each have 36 RBIs for the season.
Hicks has 32.
No way Florial could do worse than Hicks. Hell, I think Wade or Locastro would be an upgrade, Maybe even Florial.
How much are they paying this guy ?
