Proud is sorta the RutgersAl of Yankees fans,I have no idea what you're basing that prediction on, but I hope you're right.
My honest answer is that up until the past couple of years and dealing with a few specific posters- I used to always be a "let a NY/NJ team win it" in all sports. I am a Met's/Jet's/Knicks/Rangers fan- but always wanted to beat my local rivals but if I couldn't have my team win it, I enjoyed watching another local team win it. I don't live and die but my favorite team
So- to answer your question- prefer the Yankees. Except- for the few of you that almost make me want the Phils to beat you guys if you get there.
But, I also don't know if you win today- If you don't- no bragging rights for either side.
Or if you get past the Astros.
Except- see my answer to SF’s question if I would want either Yankees or Phil’s win if they both make the WS..,Yeah right. We see your fingers crossed🤞
So explain this, and I'm clueless? Clearly I know the reason for the chant, the whole rocking the baby HR trot backfired and lit a fire under the Yankees, but maybe a payback for those beachers bums throwing garbage at this same team earlier in the year? A nice optic nationally for those great engaged fans, were you in that crowd or working tables in your outfit? 😎 But hey, what do I know, you have all the answers. Fact is you tried to sell it as if it never happened, so I provided the short video. I know you said your restaurant has several TV's while you serve, so maybe you should tell Hooters management to turn up the sound so you can watch and hear the game, lol. Enjoy the playoffs as I live another post season through the eyes of the Yankees biggest, most annoying fan. One last thing, Cashman your whipping boy made a great move with Hader and your other whipping boy Stanton won 2 of the 3 games. With that said, don't sell yourself as such an intelligent fan. Your wrong way more than your ego will ever admit. https://www.youtube.com/shorts/ikJdTg9FyE0Seriously you really thought it was $29 million??? I just liked you came to Yankees thread tried to talk trash and posted something that we all could see immediately was incredibly wrong. You do that a lot. Love the banter but you are really bad at fact checking. There is no rush to provide a counter position. And you are clueless about the "who's your daddy" references??? Did you actually watch the series? Another blunder by you. Embarrassing. Research before posting. You don't do that is which why you are stupid.
I look at Clev in two ways- yes, they have a super low payroll. Let's call in under 100 mil.I'd just like to point out that David Blitzer, the owner of the Guardians, has a net worth of 1.3 billion dollars. He could spend a ton more on his team but chooses not to. He has an excellent team, but maybe the Guardians fans should be asking themselves "what if" they actually spent more on their team, maybe they would have won this series.
He shouldn't have even been on the playoff roster. His skills have seriously diminished. He can't hit and he's often looked slow and lost in left field. The Yankees will be paying him $10 million for each of the next three seasons. And he'll be on the golf course.Hicks done for the season.
While I didn't think he should be playing, it's unfortunate to miss for this reason.
Hopefully he's not on the roster next spring.
🤣🤣🤣🤣Wow is this the conversation that you want to bring up after all the wrong crap you posted yesterday. I wish I was at Hooters. You really don't know me at all!! Not surprising as you don't know anything. Have a great day Mr. $29 million. LolSo explain this, and I'm clueless? Lindor was 2 for 10 with 1 rbi in the SD series.I look at Clev in two ways- yes, they have a super low payroll. Let's call in under 100 mil.
All other playoff teams are in the $140 mil plus. Teams still in it, $200 mil +
But, Cleveland made some very good moves that allowed them to stay low on budget but also have talent. The Lindor trade worked for both teams- Met's could afford him and Carrasco- and at least Lindor will be a great get for them when all is said and done. But, Clev got Rosario and Gimenez. Both were cheap and under control. But both were major parts of their successful season- and they have a lot of young talent. So, they are doing something right, organically.
Wow no Gonzales, dj, Marinaccio,Lutege.
you are a strange little man. Let's say he had old info or an old article that used numbers in a manner they wanted to use them- the actual point was that Yankees were playing the team that had the lowest payroll in the playoffs and is bottom 5 in all of baseball. And they brought them to game 5...🤣🤣🤣🤣Wow is this the conversation that you want to bring up after all the wrong crap you posted yesterday. I wish I was at Hooters. You really don't know me at all!! Nice defense, so you admit you didn't know of the chant. Clearly you of all people are at a loss for words. I know the manager of a Hooters I could hook you up an he asked if your willing to dress the part and I said he would, absolutely. You start Friday if you like. 😁 Enjoy tonight's game.🤣🤣🤣🤣Wow is this the conversation that you want to bring up after all the wrong crap you posted yesterday. I wish I was at Hooters. Oh god. Where did I say I didn't know?? WTF wrong with you? Did the Yankee victory screw with your feeble brain? Go back and find some old MLB team salaries and make inaccurate claims again. 🙄Nice defense, so you admit you didn't know of the chant. Clearly you of all people are at a loss for words. He recently stated he's had zero issues or problems in the Yankees thread lol. It's hard to comprehend what universe he resides in. Everyone loves him they even eventually come over to his side of thinking, they promise to meet up with him at tailgates then ghost him lol.Big game tonight, and your still dicking around with me. This is too easy, I almost feel a little guilty.you are a strange little man. Milwaukee was the only other "perceived" low market but even they were substantially higher than Cleveland.
But 29/60/80 mil- whatever...if you have to keep holding onto the number rather than the actual point, then, this shows why you just are not liked on any of the message boards- hell, even your own yankee thread has had numerous posters get tired of you this year.
And hell- even you have seen me bust 008's balls in your thread for trolling too much.
So you are also admitting that in 2022 a MLB team salary at $29 million is reasonable to think it was accurate?? Boy another dumbass Mets fan. Besides the numbers being wrong the topic is stupid. Teams paying less in salary beat other teams all the time. Just like the Padres did to the Mets. Hell the Royals went to 2 WS in a row. Yet Mets want to ignore those facts.you are a strange little man. Wow no Gonzales, dj, Marinaccio,Lutege.
Added montas, Castro, peraza.
I never understod the Montas trade. Who thought he was gonna be the Yanks #2 starter and was better than Severino or Cole ?DJ has a fractured foot - took batting practice and feedback was that his injury still compromised his play
Marinaccio has a stress fracture in his shin - if this is not fully healed - likely there is a risk of over-compensation and potential longer term arm issues.
Lutege - my guess is he is not on due to relative inneffectiveness in recent outings. If you look at his splits - he has given up 11 hits in his last 5 appearances over 4 2/3 innings. They likely also need guys who go longer as a contingency due to the extended Guardians series. Lutege is pretty much only good for 1 or 2 lefty batters at this point.
Gonzalez - sucks - they already have Cabrera to be in the multi-position role. Peraza is a better SS and probably has much higher potential at bat.
Castro and Montas are head scratchers for me

I don't see a spot in the rotation for him next year either.
I also think they'll eventually regret giving up on Waldichuk.
So.... What was the odds of the Mets, Atlanta and Dodgers all losing in their first Round???? All 100+ win teams. This is the biggest underdog the Yankees have been in the playoffs since the 1976 World Series against the Big Red Machine.
My memory could be off but I recall not being given much of a chance by many in 1996 against the Smoltz/Maddux/Glavine starting pitching of the Braves. Especially after losing the 1st 2 gamesThis is the biggest underdog the Yankees have been in the playoffs since the 1976 World Series against the Big Red Machine.
Oh I’m sure we were dogs in 96 to that Braves team, but from what I heard today, this team is a longer shot against Houston. My memory could be off but I recall not being given much of a chance by many in 1996 against the Smoltz/Maddux/Glavine starting pitching of the Braves. LMFAO, I just got done telling someone else the exact same thing. 🤣29 29 29 29 29 29 29 29 29 29 29 29 29
Starting to sound like rain man
I agree with this. However, one would wonder how a bat with some pop would have helped out during this series. The bottom of the lineup is pretty weak. The true test will be if they retain these guys when they get expensive or will they pull a Moneyball and try to reload by trading them.I look at Clev in two ways- yes, they have a super low payroll.
