This is the correct numbers but keep in mind that Mets are still paying 20+ on Cano who they rightfully cut.
I believe if you look at the active 26- Dodgers lead. Mets/Yanks still up there but not leading.

but I also find no shame in spending money. I would be more embarrassed as a fan if my team sucked and had bottom 5 payroll

Current 26 Man payroll - Mets #1 at $231M, Dodgers next at $229M, Yankees #3 at $215M

Interesting side note - Mets still have deferred payroll on the books for Bonilla and Saberhagen

That list must be updated since I last saw it about a month ago..,as for deferred- BB is always the poster boy but it was actually a smart move by the Mets- and not even close to the worst deferred contract out there. Most clubs have them.

Yup. The Wilpons would have kept Cano AND played him. Big difference now.

Just saying you're an a-hole. From a guy who prided himself of "never posting in the Yankees thread" to now you are hooked on it like crack! Who cares about the payroll difference? Did you read the first part of the article?? And can you actually use a accurate list??? Cleveland payroll is not $29 million, its $66 million. 🤣🤣🤣 you still don't do your homework and embarrassed again!! What a dumbass. You are also blind to the fact that your Mets with the highest payroll to start the year, blew a 10.5 game lead, fell apart in the last week against Atlanta couldn't win the Wild Card series getting all 3 games at home. Your so called dominating National League lost the top two payrolls and highest win teams so far. The NLCS will for the first time will not have a 90 game winner.
Wait, which is it, Payroll doesn't matter then in your next breath it does, and I'm stupid. I told you after not posting once in here I would now and the amount I do post in here wouldn't be a pimple on your girlfriends ass compared to the amount you d-bags posted in the Mets thread.

Why are you using 2021 Payroll information? In fact, why would Mets fans even talk about Yankee payroll at this point when the Mets are now at the highest? Here is the list of MLB Top Payrolls (above the MLB Average) for 2022. A better argument would be that the biggest waste of payroll money was the teams that did not even make it.

1 New York Mets - $282,709,066 (OUT in Wildcard round)
2 Los Angeles Dodgers - $275,629,360 (OUT in Division round)
3 New York Yankees - $264,934,200 (Division Round - TBD)
4 Philadelphia Phillies - $255,054,497 (Advanced to NLCS)
5 San Diego Padres - $237,684,494 (Advanced to NLCS)
6 Boston Red Sox - $223,176,946 (Did not make playoffs)
7 Chicago White Sox - $208,313,226 (Did not make playoffs)
8 Atlanta Braves - $200,067,952 (OUT in Division round)
9 Houston Astros - $192,931,925 (Advanced to ALCS)
10 Los Angeles Angels - $192,890,060 (Did not make playoffs)
11 Toronto Blue Jays - $188,895,270 (OUT in Wildcard round)
12 St. Louis Cardinals - $170,122,625 (OUT in Wildcard round)
13 San Francisco Giants - $168,161,466 (Did not make playoffs)
14 Chicago Cubs - $166,068,737 (Did not make playoffs)
Why'd you stop the list? Where's Cleveland ranked on YOUR list? Would it still be the biggest gap in history, yes or know? I disagree, the best argument is to confront Yankees fans that harped all year on the Mets payroll, possibly going down to the team that would help create the greatest financial discrepancy between 2 teams in MLB history. It's a fact you guys don't want to deal with or can argue against. So praying it happens, if not, it'll be onto Houston where good things always happen.

Who the F is this guy. Met fan with a Houston logo? GTFO if your not paying the bills don’t worry abt the payroll.
Truth hurts, I'm sorry. I'm a huge Mets fan, they all know it and only the Mets winning would soil Yankees fans more than the Astros winning, hence the temporary logo switch if you must know.

Well you got one thing right, you're stupid. I was pointing how brain dead you are by calling out the Yankees but ignoring the Mets payroll. You are the one who can't make up your mind not me. To me payroll is more about average age of the team. Talent is a secondary factor. The more young kids the cheaper the salaries. The fact that you really thought Cleveland's salary was $29 million shows what many of us already knew. Your baseball IQ is zero. Go play in the shallow end of the pool. You're over your head in the deep end. Continue want to argue when you embarrassed your self so bad. 🤣🤣

No it was to argue with a low IQ clown who claims to be Mets fan and is just a Yankees troll.

Is it that bad to argue the updated salary of Cleveland, whether last or next to dead last as an embarrassment to even be in the elimination situation? Still no matter how you color it, it will go down as the biggest gap in salary in history. Not exactly getting #28 for history, but setting a new mark in the have's losing to the have nots.I know your trying unsuccessfully I might add promote your bull$hit on my fandom, rest assured, your wrong again Shortbus.

I mentioned in another post Mr. Reading Comprehension, the Mets #1/or#2 payroll, depending on which site lost to the #4/or #5 payroll depending on which site, so again, am I stupid or do you just love to change the facts to fit your narrative? Remember, I'll be keeping a list of how many posters you get in an argument with when the Yankees $hit the bed, whether today or some time in the near future. It's always fun to see you go off, then deny the timeline on how the confrontations developed between posters. Your posts about and the arguments about Cashman sucks, your Stanton sucks your Boone sucks and the I told you so arguments, always a highlight for me. Lol. Have at it, it's a time of year I always love following your nastiness.

Embarrassing to continue to try to hide the fact that you thought that Cleveland's entire salary was $29 million. You can try to spin it anyway but it just makes you look much more stupid then we thought you were. 2022 and a MLB team salary of $29 million and you thought was right 😆 🤣 😂

I don't believe I ever posted anything negative in the Mets thread....in fact I cant even remember posting in that thread at all. Who gives a shit about payroll gaps.....just another talking point for malcontents. Different teams are at different timepoints in progression. A team with a bunch of young studs arbitration eligible will have a low payroll. An older team with established players is likely to have a higher payroll. MLB has salary rules and both teams are within those rules. You don't like the rules? Lobby the commissioner or better yet.....protest by not even following baseball.

You really seem to have issues given that you express a high amount of focus on a team you don't even follow. Is there that much emptiness in your life that you have to spend this much time and effort expressing disdain, hatred and mal-wishes towards a team and its fanbase (that you don't know personally mind you)?

Maybe seek professional help for all your pent up frustrations and anger?

That would be a lie, you've posted negative comments in the Mets thread. Maybe you haven't posted payroll comments but ask a couple of the 3 Amigos about that. In particular, ask kbee and see if that's ever been his speech
Have I ever brought the Yankees being the highest payroll for years, of course. Did I expect it thrown back,100%. Either way, live with the fact your fanbase is nervous as $hit about this huge gap in salary. I'll take a hard pass on seeking help since I've learned plenty from reading and hearing on the radio the Yankees Rehab. It's been happening the past 13 years.

See the problem with your "eye for an eye" approach is that to all of us non "three amigos" who do not participate in the Mets thread at all - because, you know, we don't follow the Mets - you are the one and only troll. Because you're here constantly and have more posts than many NYY fans.

No one gives a shit about the payroll except those paying it.

I'm catching up on a years worth of Amigo posts in the Mets thread. Your wrong about me having more posts than Yamkees fans. Yamkees fans have been crying about Steve Cohen and his spending all season, you can't possibly believe that statement. The games less than an hour away,go enjoy it

@RUfinally2008
@yesrutgers01

of the 5 teams remaining as of now. Which team would you, as big Mets fans, hate to see winning it all the most.....Phillies or Yankees? Other team?
My honest answer is that up until the past couple of years and dealing with a few specific posters- I used to always be a "let a NY/NJ team win it" in all sports. I am a Met's/Jet's/Knicks/Rangers fan- but always wanted to beat my local rivals but if I couldn't have my team win it, I enjoyed watching another local team win it. I don't live and die but my favorite team
So- to answer your question- prefer the Yankees. Except- for the few of you that almost make me want the Phils to beat you guys if you get there.
But, I also don't know if you win today- If you don't- no bragging rights for either side.
Or if you get past the Astros.

You are correct that you do not go over to post there and most do not...a couple of times some of you good fans will come over for a discussion on something- but consider this- as much as 008 is driving you crazy here- you have 3-4 yankee fans on the Met's thread all year each trolling as much as he does on here.

Yankees fans are not so much crying about the Mets spending as they are pointing out the hypocrisy of Mets fans who have spent many years crying about the Yankees big spending only to see nothing wrong with it when the Amazins are doing the spending.

to be fair- the original point I believe he was making was the disparity between Yankees and Cleveland. Met's lost to a team that in the same elite payroll status as Yanks/Mets

I intend to, though I can't go enjoy it until it starts 🙃. Also, not sure I can watch the whole thing thanks to the stupid afternoon start time - strong work as usual, MLB.

Your point was about spending differential, no? Who cares about that while watching the playoffs? Spending is an off-season topic ...which I guess is where you're hanging your orange-and-blue hat these days 😂

If Yanks lose to Cleveland, it will suck because they choked to a Cleveland team they should have beaten, prob swept, not b/c of payroll differential.

Careful making accusations that you can't back-up. Posting history is easily verifiable on this site. Show me where I've posted anything negative / or anything at all in the Mets thread or STFU. Again - not sure what your deal is, maybe you're just looking for attention however you can get it (in this case by trolling) where no one wants you.

LOL.......How does someone define a loser..........someone who "learns" from sports radio.

ps......I suspect you might be the same poster as ruready4somefootball....wondering if its because you were previously banned from Yankees threads for being a serial troll.

Leave it to Mets fans to boast about how high the payroll is of the team that ended their season so quickly. Sorta expected from a crew with a mascot with a big baseball head, a big apple that rises up when a Mets player hits a home run, and retired Giants great Willie Mays' number.

The Yanks should win today and then very fair point. If they lose, season ended on your first playoff series as well..

100% correct, yet Whitebus calls me stupid. If you notice, Whitebus jumped in feet first and didn't take the time to comprehend my point. He also forgets how he consistently told you to get out of the Yankees thread, when in fact you always presented a well thought out argument. It would literally kill Whitebus that he couldn't get down and dirty with you because you were always above it all. Me on the other hand have no problem going low with that guy. His list of fellow posters he's on record of arguing with is legendary.

You used the "C" word, so you win. The payroll was a way to beat it out of so many others. That is all, enjoy the game, my job is done. 😁

You above it all?? No you just hid in the Mets complaint thread and trashed everyone. Last week you started killing the Mets thread because you aren't a Mets fan. Just a Yankee troll.
Enjoy your day Mr $29 million 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Judge is a mess. 3-2 count and Ks on a curve ball by 4 inches. That should have landed in NJ.

That’s not gonna be a great stat line for Civale. 1/3 of an inning, 2 hits, 1 BB, 1 HBP, 3 runs.
