Yankees are stuck with Stanton. He has a no trade clause and the only other team he would agree to is the Dodgers. The Dodgers want nothing to due with him and that contract. Without him the Yankees could have paid him Judge. He will end up with the SF Giants next year as Freddie Freeman ended up with LA Dodgers. It is where they want to be.

Andujar wants nothing to do with the Yankees anymore

Yanks best record in baseball. Just swept the Angels. Just shut out the Tigers twice. Incredible starting pitching......and this is what you choose to focus on?? Enjoy your continual misery.

But then you also have Joey Gallo, too many pitchers to list. Sonny Gray leads that group. And Stanton was and still is a stupid trade.
BTW on the flip side we have seen the last Andujar. Request a trade. He can be a good DH for someone
Every GM makes bad moves.

Gallo - I can not defend the Gallo move now, but I was ok with it when it happened. I was wrong on that one.

Stanton - Stanton is clearly not a bust right now. I wouldn't say he's living up to his salary, but the people who obsessed over his deal a few years ago are now strangely silent.

Hicks - Hicks is turning out to be a flop. They gave him too many years and he benefited from a career year in his walk year.

Andujar - Andjuar was a 3rd base butcher and had to get demoted to learn a new position. He'll get traded near the deadline I think.

Sonny Gray is clearly a good pitcher but couldn't cut it in NY. All 3 guys that the Yankees traded away busted, sadly. So it's a total wash.

Donaldson - meh

Rizzo - win so far

Let's talk about some of the positive moves to keep things balanced:

Gerrit Cole - Win so far despite his large contract

Taillon - Win

Cortes, Montgomery - homegrown pitchers, didn't get traded - win

Severino - mixed bag so far due to injury, looks like a possible win

Like I said, some moves are great, some aren't. This year things are good and there's little to be critical of if you're being objective.

Looking ahead, here are the Yankee free agents this year:

Judge - Keep
Chapman - Gone
Britton - Gone
Severino (club option) - Keep
Taillon - Keep
Green - ?
Castro - ?

Other Interesting salary facts:

Stanton - 6 more years under contract. First 3 at 32 million, last 3 at 29 million. Yankees get 10 million a season for Staton's last 3 years of his contract

Hicks - 3 more years at around 10 million per. Then a club option year.

You can see why they didn't get a big money shortstop and got a stop gap that's producing. Oh yeah....

IKF - Big Win in free agency

Dump Gallo, Dump Hicks.....everything else will be good.

This coming from a guy that thought getting Gallo was a good move 🤣
Called me out when I said it was a bad move last July. Your opinion on baseball, especially the NY Yankees is completely irrelevant for lack of basic baseball knowledge.
The better move would have been cut Gallo and keep Andujar.

I really don't recall but awesome for you that one of your non-stop compulsive predictions of future misery came true. I'm a glass half full guy when it comes to my teams & sports entertainment and from my perch, things are looking good. Yankees best record and stong pitching, young Rangers team making a deep run ahead of schedule, RU Football heading to camp with a much stronger recruiting boost, RU Basketball with the Griffiths and Caleb news, overall state of RU athletics performance, facilities and fan interest might be the best its ever been.

Like I said, enjoy your misery.

Well let's add your reading comprehension to your "need to improve" list. I love the way the Yankees are playing and never said anything otherwise.
You keep blasting me when the Yankees are on a roll and everything is going good. Yet my post are nothing about how the team is playing. It's about Cashman. You can't figure that out. Stanton is rejoining the team so someone needed to go. Why do you think Andujar was a better choice than Gallo. You certainly can't explain with analytics.
Love everything about Rutgers sports. We are making a name for RU big time shutting up those who said we were good enough for the conference. Never since hey joined have I said anything bad about RU...except for Ash and Flood of course.

Why are you still complaining about Cashman when we're the best team in baseball? Just enjoy the run while it lasts.

Why the hell are you praising him? You said yesterday that he has done a great job getting veterans to milk a few goods months out of them. Let me know when we get a few good months out of Gallo.
He had the chance to get rid of a .173 hitter yesterday. Made a bad move.
I am enjoying the hell out of this season. You are the one that went sideways with comment

Yanks have to have something up their sleeve abt Gallo. How do they drop andujar who was batting cleanup and hitting and keep Kk Gallo. Hoping there’s a trade in the works.

I hope so. Right now it makes no sense at all.

I'm praising him because we're the best team in baseball and he's the GM. He put together a great team when the fans were just pushing him to spend and spend and spend. That's good leadership. At some point, the players have to produce.

I get it. Gallo sucks. Get rid of him. He'll be gone soon enough. Stop dwelling on it. We'll get an outfielder at the trade deadline.

Oh for God's sake. Has nothing to do with where the Yankees are right now. You were praising him about the past. At least own up when you make a dumb post like you did yesterday. I wasn't dwelling on it. Just reminding you that last years move was not a "great job".

7th best yankee start of all time. Need to keep it up. Maybe we can hire back Girardi and put him in the front office instead.
I still would fire Boone and replace him with JG. Boone isn’t a real manager.

Def wouldn’t fire Boone. It’s a veteran team mgr just has to sit back stay out of the way and let them play.
My problem with him is after a guy has 3 hits 3 rbi he gives a day off. If hot keep him in the lineup.

Someone built this pitching staff.

Absolutely.

Gallo comes up big. Go figure.
And what about Rizzo making like Rickey Henderson with the stolen base and base running leading to a big run.
And Donaldson with the clutch winning RBI.
King pretty solid as well.

I own up to anything I post unlike the majority of the board. I even said in the post that I was wrong about Gallo. You haven't admitted you were wrong about anything since the inception of this board. Just wanted to point that out.

Anyway, I'm gonna move on from this conversation so I don't bog what this thread should be about - the Yankees kicking everyone's asses.

Oh I have admitted Ive been wrong many times. Was 1000% wrong about Flood. Tiger. Wrong about Voit. He was good mostly when on the Yankees. I'm certainly not wrong about Cashman however, Saturdays move proves that!
Yes the Yankees are kicking ass and everyone on this thread is enjoying it no matter where the conversation goes. Just because they have the best record in baseball doesn't mean you can't have a discussion on needed improvements.

That has always driven me crazy. I've never liked Boone's "day off" crap.
But IMO ranking on the manager or GM of a team that has the best record in MLB is bad form.

^^^ Not as much as not having a guy hitting .150 laying down a sacrifice bunt in the late innings of a close game with runners on first and econd and no outs. Drives me crazy.
But the team is doing great so I'll hold off on the criticism right now.

It's funny- well, not really, but that was our complaint with Met management for the past few years before Buck. A guy gets 3 or ore hits and we all knew they would out of the lineup the next day.

Not sure if anyone is into book signings, but MLB.com Executive reporter & MLB Network Insider Mark Feinsand wrote a New York Yankees book "The Franchise" released tomorrow, 6/7.

Here are the details, I'm helping someone promote the event at East Brunswick BN this Thursday from 6-8.

Joe Geradi had the day off crap too which tells
me It's Cashman making the calls.

The love affair with Chapman blows my mind.
It has been 13 years since we have been in
the World Series, when was the last time that happened? Gene Michael's
Teams were inherited by
Steinbrenner's personal car driver, Cashman. Those great great players he received got old,
and Cashman was on his own. 13 years no world Series appearance.

Let's not talk bad about Cashman too many fans of him on here.

Boomer on the radio today brought up that no one in the media is talking about Judge's arbitration hearing coming up. Because of the lockout many of them were scheduled well after the season started. Will a deal get done before then?
The bigger question I have is why are the Yankees forging ahead. Just let him win and meet his arbitration figure. Why drag this on?
