OT: Snow weenies..how's your snowpack doing now?

Just piles left over here in Central Orange Cty...of course, a nice dusting this AM and a forecast of 1-2 for friday is a not-so-gentle reminder...to not call victory over this nastiest of seasons just yet. Everything looks so dirty...all the garbage the snow melt reveals...the sand and dirt and bits of asphalt to go along with trashed roads. Cant wait to see daffodils poking through the ground!

Snow had melted on the soccer field by this morning, so we were able to play on a dry field (just some snow near the edges, in the shade. Of course, we still have about an inch or so on our entire property, except where I used up the snow to make a snowman. Snow has melted almost everywhere else, as usual.

On my way home from work Friday, I laughed to myself seeing several neighbors shoveling snow off their driveways. Of course, 24 hours later those driveways were completely clean, shoveled or not.

Welp, my snowpack is almost gone - I expect the warm temperatures and the rain today to take care of the last of it.

Not sure what's more odd.......... the weenies who fancy themselves weathercasters or bac who has this bitterness over snow, people who like snow, and forecasts that predict snow.

The bitterness is because snow weenies don't know when to let it go. I always wonder what is the difference between them getting 3 or 12 inches...why would they want something that impacts peoples lives for days and travel...do they eat it do they lie on it...not sure what they do with...most weenies wanit it 60 or below all year round. I find that strange

Who made you the arbiter of what people should like and not like? That's why you piss everyone off on the weather boards. If I were to put it the way you do, why would you want massive heat waves and associated tornadoes that kill more people than snow and cold do?

But I don't put it that way, because I realize that what anyone "wishes" for has no bearing on the outcome and I don't think anyone who wishes for a certain kind of weather really wants anyone to be hurt (except for a few rare wingnuts) by that weather - but rather, some people are simply awed by certain weather events and some are awed by other kinds of weather and they enjoy tracking these events and seeing them occur.

I find it strange that you find it strange that people don't all see things exactly the way you do.

By the way, snow chances look to be done for the I-95 corridor, but next week still has snow chances for folks like Spanky and especially WestPointKnight, i.e., for folks well NW of NYC and at decent elevation...

You'd need to go to AmericanWx, where he underplays every snow event before it happens and while it's happening, regularly baiting the 95% of the posters there, who love snow. It's the equivalent of a PSU fan coming on this board and talking about how RU sucks, has always sucked and will continue to suck in the future - that tends to make one unpopular and I think he brings that anger back here. That's my pop psychoanalysis, anyway...

And as much as you think that board loves all weather...how come every single person who likes heat...and there are plenty besides me...takes abuse over liking warm weather and heat

#'s likes snow, Bac likes heat. Who gives a $#1T?? Only thing I care about when going on this thread is to hear what weather guys are saying. So thanks to all who contributed this winter..whether you're snow lovers or not.

You've certainly been warned by mods and other respected posters on the board for banter and tweaking other posters and you absolutely underplay coming storms. I'm surprised that you haven't been banned, actually. I also never said you were a liar, but it certainly seems like your observations are occasionally underdone relative to the radar in Belle Mead and what other posters very close to you observe. Maybe you just aren't familiar with the visibility based definitions of heavy/moderate/light snow or don't have good distance markers.

Having said all that, yes, there is a ton of fantasy on that board and people who absolutely inflate snow totals/conditions. And you often unfairly get grief from the overzealous weenies when you're simply being realistic (and I've defended you in those situations). But it's the glee you take when snow underperforms or doesn't materialize which generates so much heat for you on that board - considering that 95% of the posters in those threads are snow lovers, does that really surprise you?
