Rashan Gary Down to Michigan and Clemson

At this point Michigan is going to have to set up a satellite campus in New Jersey.

Spotted this bus on the NJ Turnpike, and it had Michigan plates.

Hmmmmm - Rutt's Hut was closed on Saturday......

Was never coming to RU, so does it really matter?

Partridge was always a threat. Initially.

Let's see how much influence he has in the coming years when NJ kids have gone through another cycle or two. Michigan will always get kids, nationally, but Partridge would be especially effective getting NJ kids there immediately. That will fade every day moving forward after this class signs and he puts his head to sleep in Michigan every night.

Sure it matters. If he selects Michigan, we will have to deal with him four times. Probably more formidable than Joey Bosa or Shilique Calhoun. Also good to see he has ruled out tOSU. Would rather see him at a school we do not play, and not at Michigan so we don't have to have a thread full of crying. I may join in on the crying if he goes to Michigan.

That thread will exist no matter what. Those are the same people who get upset when they hear that a supermodel, actress, singer, etc got married, as if they ever had a chance.

I think it is called being delusional.

I agree with respect to Gary. Partridge had an advantage that can't be replicated. But if he overcame the fact that most NJ coaches dislike him intensely to get the rest of the NJ contingent, I'm not sure it will fade away.

But my crying will be different and justified.:joy:[banana] I just don't want to have to watch Rashan Gary on defense against Rutgers.

Hey Rashan: Winters are lovely in South Carolina. Golf, Tennis fishing etc. You cannot even drink the water in Michigan. Go south young man.

All our NJ high end, multiple P 5 offer talent we've been courting since 9th grade considered Flood a pal, they were given carte blanche by him to "hang out" anytime they wanted to. There was no mystique, no reverence, no aloofness...just an empty suit they thought was a nice guy.

Just wondering what it looks like from his perspective - what are his priorities & which school best enables him to achieve them. Guessing his overall priority is -
Be an early, early first round draft choice in shortest time possible - so ...
..... play right away
..... play in a program that is entirely very supportive of 'leaving early'
..... play in a program where he will get maximum visibility
...... play in a place where life will be made as pleasant as possible for him & his family

Not sure which way he will decide - but it would be easier to argue that Clemson could more readily deliver on these points.

The Partridge era at Michigan will end when someone (maybe Politi?) discovers how Partridge funnels benefits (transportation, housing, clothing, cash, jobs/opportunities/connections, travel, whatever) to player's families. All these NJ players are not landing at Ann Arbor for all the right reasons. There is too much history with great recruiting classes. Follow the money and family life-style changes.

Politi would only care and bother to discover if he was doing it for Rutgers.

Michigan will be easier to get on the field for him. Clemson already is signing the #2 DT and the #16 DT and if ratings are just a bit off, these 2 will be playing ahead of him. (not to speak of the current roster!)

Clemson also is signing the #1 OLB and the #3 ILB. They are probably out of cash cause their DB's are both 2 stars!!! UM will be home for Gary.

He was the best guy ever apparently at the Big Man camp. I highly doubt he is afraid of any competition at all.

Zappas point is a good one. I didn't like the Flood/Barthel approach of "come down whenever you want.". Kills the mystique (if any) and your warts show. It should be a treat to visit a school, not just another weekend.

Flood couldn't pass Intro to Dance. Think about that. I'm glad the joke is gone.

I saw Gary a lot in high school. He was shut down often because the other Big 5 teams could double team him (plus they have great talent as well). However in the UA game, he was great playing with other great players. I think Clemson would be the perfect place for him. They produce a lot of NFL DL and they are on a rise. Who wouldn't want to play with DeShaun Watson over the next year.
