RU Commits & HS Season Discussion Thread

Van Ness wins by TF in the 3rd 23-7. His attacks in neutral were quick and decisive and he scored from multiple angles. Once he got hold of his opponents leg or ankle, he finished.

He will face #10 Kolby Franklin (Wyoming Seminary) in the finals.

Hamilton already beat Franklin 6-3 at Ironman this year.

Add them all up and combined they wrestled less than one match. Not exactly great competition. However, @MS-RU keep these updates coming and thank you for posting them, I appreciate it.

Hamilton wearing Rutgers sweatshirt. Will likely go to Blair next year. Any chance of a Van Ness - Hamilton package

Serious? Because if he does, they will try to talk him out of that Rutgers commitment.

No go on Blair sorry folks lol
Good.

raw

O'Neill into the finals as well with a 1st period pin (1:15). Will #3 ranked Noah Fox.

I saw a clip where Kyonte was playing QB!
he seems like he has the perfect frame to be a TE or LB,
The sky appears to be the limit....

Probably gets straight A's in school a well

Van Ness with a dominant 21-6 TF over Lehigh commit and #9 in the country Drew Munch from Wyoming Seminary. Really impressive as he is all attack, all the time.

As an aside, the announcers mentioned how heavily he is being recruited and talked about how his father's picture is at the RAC and how Shayne could come to RU and be even more legendary than his father. It was really cool to hear.

Big win for Connor O'Neill as he gets the 2nd period pin against #3/4 ranked Noah Fox in the finals.
Mixed feelings on this one as Noah is a great kid. My buddy's son is Michael Conrad, who wrestles @ 182 for Montville. He's over the moon because with his 3 wins today, Mikey is at 100 in his high school career.

Noah is having a great season so there is absolutely no shame in losing to Connor. Guys like him and Reitsma are on a different level than everyone else at 170. He is a Beast of the East champ this year, so he is battle tested as he faced some of the best competition in the country.

Congratulations to your buddy's son as well. Unfortunately for him he might be on a crash course with Poz lol

Since the districts were re-aligned to better balance the competition, the district tournament has become heavily watered down. It’s still cool to win or place, but it’s very rare to get 2 state place caliber wrestlers in the same district bracket.

There’s seemingly 5-6 teams in each district that are well below average and most of team titles are decided long before the day even starts.

Lol yeah that's kind of what we were talking about the other day but hopefully the seedings are kind and they won't have 2 top 5 kids face each other too early in AC.
