A stall is now called on Myers. Smith leads 3-2 entering the next TB period despite getting ridden out #RUWR\\

boy, this one must be a yawner lol

Myers escapes at the buzzer. We're heading to our second SV period! A tight one here to close the dual #RUWR

285: No. 10/11/NR Spencer Myers takes down No. 13/13/14 Billy Smith (#RUWR) in SV2 for a 5-3 win.

Yikes. RU wins, but Coach G has to be worried about Camp's and Smith's lack of progress, actually appear to be going backwards.

Smith loses. Our upper weights are regressing big time. Smith was better as a freshman. He cannot win a close match which is all heavyweights do most of the time.

Imo, Camp will quit if he cannot compete and it is looking like that might be the case. I know it's early but things are not looking good when he is losing to no names.

We have nothing that can compete on National level 165 and above right now except for maybe Bakuckas. And yes, until Smith shows he can beat some of these ranked guys he is not in the discussion.

*FINAL* No. 22 #B1G win in program history! The Scarlet Knights take 7 of 10 bouts

Coach G needs to wake up Smith from his doldrums, not sure if he is injured or what, and as far as Camp goes, I hope he doesn't give up and quit.

At this point, when it comes to the Big 10 Tourny, Camp will be unseeded, and Smith is heading in that direction.

Did Camp really just lose again? Is this the same 4x state champ, blue chip recruit, that was talking about winning a national championship and thankful for a second chance? Yeah, I understand he's out of shape and getting into it again but I'm really starting to lose faith in him. At this rate I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up quitting the team or something...I'm really beginning to question his heart and dedication...please prove me wrong Camp.

We roll and people are complaining? Oh well lol! (I get it, btw, Camp and Smith a little disappointing ...).

was at the match. dominant win. full disclaimer, i have a grad degree from Maryland so was somewhat conflicted during the match. my thots on the matches fwiw

125: Polacek from MD looked big for a 133 lber. McCabe showed great poise and won the match in the 3rd
133: match of the night. DelVecchio won every facet and beat a Maryland's best wrestler who had just beat Lehigh's all american Beckman last week. huge win, very impressive.
141; deceptively big win for Ash. Shy is an NQ and very dangerous. quality win.
149: not MD's best but Theobold was dominant. total annihilation.
157: Mascola (Essex County kid) is good but shouldn't have been able to get backs with the same move 4 times. Painton needs to adjust during the match.
165: again not MD's best weight but always nice to see the only senior on the roster get a W.
174: closer than it should have been. Bakuckas got caught standing up with a snap back headlock but the outcome of the match was never in doubt. Phil was physically dominant and Snook was limp the entire 3rd.
184: closer than the score would indicate but a solid win by Pafumi. something to build on.
197: Camp lost it in the 3rd and needs to manage his matches and conditioning better but i am not so down on the performance. Fitzgerald is a senior from PA and gave Lehigh's ranked Riddick all he could handle last week. he is a tough dude and this is just part of the re-acclimation process for Camp. no reason at all to think he is going to quit from what i've seen.
285: Myers is a tremendous athlete. an all american heavy and B1G DE letter winner in football. Smith should win these matches but this is not regressing in my opinion. both guys gave herculean efforts and should be applauded. there is no shame to barely, and i mean barely, losing to a guy like Myers.

smallish crowd in the auxiliary gym. same building but adjacent to the main arena. good production tho. also Maryland's resident heckler Robin Ficker was out in full force (google him for more details).

overall a dominant away win over an in-conference opponent with a couple starters sitting out. there was a lot to be pleased with after stepping up to the last 3 opponents. 7 more duals left. should go 3-4 at a minimum. stealing one or two from Wiscy or NW would be great.
