JWILL played good game. Martini sucks. Hayes unfortunately seems nothing more than spot up shooter, and he is missing them. Derkack best transfer easily.

I rarely complain about the refs but Buzz Williams works them all game. I think this was one game where pike needed to take a T for the team.
I don’t know how anyone can view 1-3 in the last 4 as a positive for a team that is supposed to have a chance in the tournament.
you want to know how
1) we are slow on defense
2)reach in non-stop
3)we try to contest every single shot when 75% of time fundamental defense will suffice
4)Let their 2 guards run the paint full speed, out of control and then reach or just foul them & bail them out
5) help defense is non-existent
6) we pick up nobody at 1/2 court we sit at top if Arc

2)Zone defense......they had ZERO on WINGS NOTHING AT ALL

I ask again, were you actually watching? We got a couple stops when we first brought out the zone. They figured it out and ran in for uncontested dunks like three times in a row before we stopped. The zone was not the answer.

Somerville's phantom 5th foul was a dumb play, but also not a foul - can't give the ref a chance to blow that whistle. He was playing decently.
Here's the problem and have hinted at this early in season. This is a 2 person team. The other 3 guys on the court have to sacrifice everything to fit their game into a 2 person team. We are not going to win shit with 2 guys taking 60% plus of shots. Pike needs to turn this into a 5 person team not a 2 person team
Yes, I understand. He made bad plays at the end of the games. Trusting a guy who has played as well as he did to take charge at the end of the game is not bad coaching regardless of how it worked out a couple times.

people are assuming there will be improvement over the course of the season, but that’s generally true of all teams - at some point, you are what you are. we just have to hope Dylan and Ace are able to control games later in the season.
THIS 1000%, I am also not one to bitch about refs, but was at the game and it was really badly officated. Dylan’s drive at the end he was fouled, many non-calls at the RU offensive end, it was awful
Improvement aside I don’t think the supporting cast is as bad as they’ve played. I also don’t think anything happened in Vegas to panic over, the two teams we lost to are both ranked.
