There has to be some possibility of a return. There’s an injured kicker who kicked it short. Could’ve actually had a 40 yard change of direction if it was caught in the air, can’t give up that part of the game.

I’m sure it’s pounded into their brains to just step away from it after you’ve decided to let it roll. That’s the fundamental move.
But when it bounces a mile high and you’ve got a few seconds kinda makes sense to catch it
I am beyond annoyed at this refusal of returning punts. Football is a game of aggression and in so many ways.. we lack aggression.
