Nothing positively impressive here actually. Just more SJW, neo-Marxist claptrap. Rule #1 is many (if not most) awards these days go to the more radical friendly. Rhodes awards? Forget them.

This kid likes art history and his fav scholar is Walter Mignolo who is anti-colonial, anti-west, anti borders etc etc. Really we are saturated in this stuff, and its turning people into anti-social kooks ruining academics at most colleges (gender studies crews among the worst offenders).

"Atehortua says, his plan is to become an academic art historian. He already knows where he wants to go – Duke University. He’s particularly drawn to the work of Walter Mignolo, the Argentine social critic and exponent of “decolonial aesthetics,” who is a professor at Duke."
