Rutgers-Maryland at Yankee Stadium, per source

When Delaney - who gave RU a lifeline - TELLS RU to play at Yankee Stadium - you DO IT.....and you don't question it......small potatoes to pay to have the privilege to play in the Big 10......and not the AAC.....
If that is in fact the case, then I 100% agree. However, it goes against everything that had been stated publicly about how he wants B1G conference games to be played on campus.

I'm sure this is a slim chance, but I'll wait to criticize Hobbs on the off-chance he used this as negotiation for us to get full share of B1G money a little sooner...

This is a f*****g disgrace. A disgrace. Is Hobbs mentally handicapped?

Not to be that guy but there are a million other ways to denigrate Hobbs for decision beside the avenue above.

Anyway, yes, this is total bull shit.

Not the point. The point is we only get 7 home games to tailgate see old friends and root on dear old RU. You can't do that at that crappy venue. Hobbs stole one of those opportunities from season ticket holders and his fan base.

Sorry but drinking a beer out of a brown paper bag in a parking deck is not my idea of tailgating. Nor does sitting in left field in a baseball stadium scream college football atmosphere. I've been there twice sight lines suck as does the whole experience.

I agree it sucks . One of the reasons the 2011 team is looked down upon is because they pinstinked us when they could have been so much better that that bowl .

THEY BETTER NOT HAVE PEOPLE STANDING UP IN FRONT OF ME AND NO WAIT AT THE TOOL BOOTH!!

I couldn't care less about you season ticket holders and your self interest, inconvenience, fear of the big city or any other bullshit excuses you come up with for not going. All I care about is maximizing the football team's opportunity to win. Moving home conference games to Yankee Stadium undermines that opportunity. Why give away the edge?

I'm actually completely fine with this. Guess I am the only one. I dont care in the slightest.
I am willing to keep an open mind until more facts are known.

Can't deny that Yankee Stadium is a god-awful place to watch a football game. Also can't deny that if I were a tailgater, this would be a bigger deal for me.

$$$$$$
And maybe Hobbs is a Yankee fan and they are giving him a sweet deal and some luxury club access .
Who knows the 2020 home game against penn state might get moved to citi field !

Its not a good place to watch a game, but its a fun change of scenery. I also dont mind going to the yankees bars for a little pre-game instead of the full tailgate.

Down the street to the PATH,then the No.4 train for me.It'll cost me only $4.70 total in train fare.If you're a retired alcoholic,it's not a bad deal to play there instead of at High Point once in a while. It's too bad that it's not Notre Dame,as Obamacare caused me to miss the 2013 game there.

I HATE the idea of playing a home game at Yankee Stadium. HATE IT!!!

But if this is true ... if Delaney is the driving force behind this, then I'd be okay with it. There's no denying we owe him one, so to speak. And I must say, it's the only thing that makes sense to me. Because I'm not buying the this "brings us national attention" angle. And, according to my abacus, there is no way this will make Rutgers more money.

For a change, I hope the local media digs around and finds out what is REALLY behind this. If it is Delaney, at least that would smooth out a lot of ruffled feathers.

Hobbs would not schedule a game at Yankee Stadium for the sake of it..Hobbs and Delaney are 2 savvy business people.....there's a BIG picture reason why this is being done such as:

- Delaney asking / telling RU to do it - with favors down the road for RU
- RU maybe having a contractual commitment with the Big 10 to play at Yankee Stadium
- Promoting the Big 10 brand for the sake of the Conference

Remember Hobbs and Ash were just at Yankee Stadium...Coincidence? I doubt it.......

Question for the Board: Did, all of a sudden, Pat Hobbs just get REALLY dumb? Or just maybe there is a method to his apparent madness? I suggest we cool our collective jets until we find out.

Exactly.....there's a BIG long term reason why this is being done......Hobbs and Delaney are as savvy as they come......people need to stop being emotional over matters and understand the long term / important aspect / objective of this move - for which Hobbs and Delaney understand and realize.....

There's obvious a reason Hobbs is doing this..he's not dumb.

Doesn't make it the right move, and doesn't make it a move Rutgers fans have to be happy about...

Delaney has no ability to give RU favors, favors are voted on by the conference. What favors did Ill get for moving their games? How many of you tuned in to watch their exciting off campus games because it was played somewhere else?

It is a money grab at the expense of the fans, pure and simple. It better be a big F'n check.

Only Hobbs knows the entirety of it's benefits. For the good of the team I'll be headed to Da Bronx.

If true this is a mistake on multiple levels. The bigger issue for me is will schools like Michigan and Ohio State start demanding that we play at Giant Stadium. Was our invite to the B10 so other programs could showcase their product to recruits in a pro stadium? Before someone jumps all over this post I will tell you that is exactly what happened throughout the 1990's.

If true, still a bad job by Hobbs. He should be in front of the issue and let us know why this is taking place. It's his first PR mistake.

No football game has ever been played at either of these two. If anything it would be M&T or FedEx Field.

Kinda said that tongue-in-cheek....

A main beef a lot have is its a baseball stadium and rough to see the field....so I figured it would make sense our return trip will also be to a baseball stadium..

But I know it won't happen.

We played Penn State at M&T this past season and it was at least 50% Penn State fans. We basically owed the stadium a game because the move to the Big Ten meant we needed to make schedule changes. Never a good idea to give away a home game though, especially in conference.
