TODAY ! : RU vs Northwestern, 4pm , RAC :

Although I have to say that I find the scheduling puzzling - with 2 weeks between games, the team had to be rusty.
I just worry about the team being rusty after long layoffs. A week between games (Harvard on 12/8 followed by LSU on 12/15) and then 13 days before opening the B1G schedule against a solid Northwestern team on the 28th

I had posted the above quote just before the Harvard game. Looks like I may have been right. Happy that they pulled it out yesterday.

BTW - Northwestern is going to be good next year. Lots of height and almost all their key players will be back. They have 2 post players who block like they played football.

And just for the record, we had one of our least favorite officials doing the game yesterday. Clockgate friend Tina Napier was the lead referee.

I agree with that.
But to be fair , bac made a good point about leads being lost.

I just hope BeKnighted's rust was the cause and the problem bac points out will cease to be a problem
That's the way I'll look at it now , so this win is more enjoyable :cool2:

well if they were rusty why did they hit shots early and go up 16 and then totally go ice cold later.

The rust might have started showing as the game went on .
Started warm and then tired out a bit mentally because of the time between games.

I'll find ways to feel RU will continue to win and let the reasons why the team didn't look good fall to others.
No one can say for sure if it was the rust that caused breakdown, but also can's say for sure it wasn't.
Though squandering leads seems to be a problem, this time there might be a reason.
