Updated :Flowrestling previews The Midlands Tournament:

I'm surprised Mulligan, even Pagano and Grello, are unseeded. Heck Pagano was ranked in the top 20 and was an NCAA qualifier last year. I have no idea what the Midlands uses for criteria to seed however.

I'm thinking Richie Lewis is going to be better prepared for Marinelli, when/if they face in the Semi Finals.

I'm thinking 3 or 4 good shots at finalists in Suriano, Del Vecchio, Lewis and Gravina.

With the exception of 133 125 165 184. RU in wrestle backs before Quarter finals.

yeah ok pal... and just a few years ago we didn't go to Midlands cuz we weren't good enuff to.. Now we have 4 guys seeded top 4 with a 3 time AA out of the lineup!!

Who will get RU more points at 285, Gross or Correnti?
The team will pick the 10 scorers (not everyone scores team points). And I am pretty sure anyone wrestling unattached can not be a scorer (I am not 100% sure of the unattached not being scorers).

Found some additional info.

“In a change for this season dictated by NCAA rules, the Midlands will score the wrestler at each weight that earns the most points for their team. In the past, schools chose their scorers before the tournament and could have more than one at a weight. Now, they will simply wrestle the tournament and anyone competing attached could end up contributing if they are the top man for their crew in a given bracket.”

So Correnti being unattached will not score points for us. And no longer pick your 10 scorers.

Dude not sure being at Midlands has anything to do with it. But basically you made my point.

And what point is that? That ur a Debbie downer? We have a legit chance at putting 4 into the finals(barring upsets)... That would be a huge accomplishment for the program if that happens... I get that ur new here... But starting out by pointing out the negatives is not going to win you many friends on here... Matter might like you... But that's not a good thing...

Do you know if in the past you could choose someone unattached as the scorer? I can't recall, but from all the reading on eligibility rules with respect to Suriano this summer, I can't see how that wouldn't violate at least the spirit of the rules surrounding "competition years." I am wondering if that is the change they made.

Not a Debbie downer. All I am saying other then the weights I listed which I expect those 4 to make it to the semis. Every other wrestler will be in the wrestle backs. Thats not to say they won’t place. That’s not a Knock. It’s a fact.

Please refrain from trying to pass off your opinions as fact... It never goes over well on here...

The one thing I dislike about Flo is it is hard to find mat assignments. Usually have to go in the arena, but don't see the arena for Midlands :(

If u feed the trolls, they get larger!

How is JVB's ankle sprain?
I am excited to see how he stacks up at 157.

Banjosayswoof = debbie downer

Saying RL will not place is rough.
There are 5 top 20 guys and Midlands places up to 8.
Hard to make that argument.
What planet have you been on ...I’ll take part of that bet ..saying RL won’t place here ...you been smoking too much weed .. as much as I hate the drama the kid put the team through I still acknowledge he is a top notch wrestler and most certainly will place here ..where the turnstile to get in that betting line lol

Can I get in on that bet ..you are delusional if you really believe RL won’t place here ..if he doesn’t we may have to re-evaluate our 165 position lol

Well with no I-Mar its still a suckers bet. Again, man of my word. OSU match, a round of beers on me but no more add-ins. I am just a poor guy working at a not for profit. I have no problem though throwing down a cold one on me with some fellow RU fans.

how many finalists has RU had in the MIdlands ever?
One?
Ashnault's best finish is a third i believe.

Having 4 people in the semis and 2 or more finalists would be a step up for RU.

Just keep getting better every year should be the goal.

Thanks for blocking me whoever did it. For the record I said 4 in the semis. Great for DeLuca and Mulligan. Like i said 125 133 165 and 184 all go to semis. Now lets see what happens in the quarters with 149 and 197. If those two win great for RU. All I predicted was who was getting into the semis. We took a hit in that round with 141 and 157, plus RS HWT. My prediction still stands and i believe those who have lost still have a chance to place. Jersey Devil no need for the name calling. I keep the conversation civil you my friend did not.

Ummm no. That’s not what you said. You clearly predicted only 4 to the quarters.

My original post said quarters after that I always referred to the semis. I still believe I will be right.

2 things for the record... 1 you said before qtrs... Not qtrs or semis.... It's right there clearly in your post, so any debate on that matter is moot... 2 you are acting like a jackass...You made a rookie mistake... Just apologize for making a dumb statement and move on... We're here to support RU.. And when needed, defend her from the jackasses, trolls, and The Peds... (That last group is the absolute worst)
