Good lord was anyone else getting serious flashbacks last night to 2021? That game felt like a mirror to ours down the stretch). Could not get a rebound. Could not get a clean look from the field. Houston just playing so damn hard it doesn't even matter if you are as well (which Duke and RU both were).

That program would be so fun to root for. Sampson can sure coach his a$$ off.

I'm certainly not betting against them on Monday.

I wrote this before about Houston .They missed a foul shot in our game and grabbed rebound and made a three point shot. That to me was the biggest part of that game. We grab the ball we have 3 point lead and possession of ball.

The Johnson blown slam was just as bad
We should have been up 10, instead we were only up 5 seconds later

Duke will be fine. Although they were an elite team this year, their inexperience and lack of tough league competition did them in this year. Despite all the hype they still have to play the games. They will lock and reload for many more years to come

Sheesh some of you are miserable, lol.

That game was like a mirror of our game from 21. I'm sorry it was a few rounds earlier. You'll also never convince me if we don't hold on there that we don't go to final four. Houston blew through their next 2 games and we were damn good that year.

A stomach punch game is a stomach punch game. Furthest we've gotten since I've been a fan and I'd bet I had the exact same amount of misery that any Duke fan felt last night.

That last foul call on Flagg was terrible. He was getting mugged and squeezed by 2 Houston players. If anything the foul should have been against Houston. If Proctor makes his foul shots, Duke wins.

lol no Flagg was not fouled. I agree is was a bad call but let’s not get crazy. Also Houston has at least 3 horrible calls also against them before that.

Johnson missed a dunk which would have won the game for Rutgers.

I was thinking the same thing but not as condensed. We went on a crazy good run to go up by 10 (50-40) but there was still 11 minutes left. The comeback was similar but more time to do it at every point. From an Offensive standpoint we were similar to Duke but that last 60 seconds and 30 seconds were just insane by Houston against Duke. The chipped away a little earlier against us down 2 with I think around 3 minutes left.

that didn't hurt Duke like I've seen people complain about. It put a bad FT shooter at the line which he made both. But it gave Duke the ball for the last shot. No foul there and Houston has the last shot.

I read that in college there’s no actual “over the back call,” which I didn’t realize.

There’s only “illegal contact” and Flagg was certainly holding the man boxing him out.

The circumstances were obviously not the same for a variety of reasons, but, from the standpoint of a long suffering Rutgers fan, I just want to point out that RU getting to the Sweet Sixteen is a LOT more rare than Duke advancing to another championship game. I still have not fully recovered from our gut punch in 2021. The Dukies have plenty ofvery positive outcomes with which to console themselves.

If you had a top 5 of RU plays you'd want back, this would be up there. The dropped TD pass late in the 2006 WVU game and the phantom illegal man downfield against 2012 Louisville are right there.

A sweet 16 appearance and two elite bowl games lost.

IMHO I don't think the program has either. That was the high mark.
