I am going to give my response before I read anything else since you posyed this.
Myself- was not anti Pike but had thought that he may have reached his peak. He did something similar to GS 1.0- brought us somewhere we really didn't think we would see. But I felt he may have reached his capacity and his recruiting seemed to be weakening.
Bring us to where we are... I was so damn wrong on him as a coach- he did not peak- he has now shown us where he can bring us- let's say we had reached the 64 on the bubble...and he then brought this team on this sort of run, we would be in the final 4 right now.
That in itself is something we have never seen. So- he now has me as a believer as a leader and game day coach.
Now- Recruiting- this is the oither step- in football, you can be a very good team with 30ish type classes. In BB- you need to be crushing it to stay on top. I just havent seen it from him yet. That is all that is left for me unless--- spit it out- he gets run off the court in these final games. But my gut tells me that he gets 2-3 more wins and we are ranked going into the tourny

and yes, i do believe that if this 4 game streak out of nowhere never happens the jury would be out on pike. Im happy this streak happened though. U guys act like i actively root against rutgers haha. I am surely enjoying the moment as i think the future looks bleak after this season. I thought this was our last shot for a bid for a number of years and when we started off awful it was a blow. Im happy it has turned around

Pikiell is a miracle worker. That being said I was nervous about a drop off next year. Early in the year I though paul was average, Cliff and Ron would both bounce for potentially greener pastures.
This best part about what we are watching right now is it takes away all my anxiety about losing guys for next year.
Returning Cliff, Ron, Paul, mag, Reiber, Hyatt and Jones is going to be huge for the future of our program. Earlier this year it looked perilous.

Im not sure yet. Lets see how the season plays out. If the season plays out with us finishing 12-8 in big ten play and getting bounced in the first round, hes probably average, right? If he gets past the first weekend, ill gladly admit im wrong. This has been an incredible 2 weeks stretch, literally an unprecedented stretch in college basketball history and im loving it. I will not hesitate to say he is already a GREAT coach by Rutgers standards. So I guess its what youre comparing him too.

Yes, I love when people make irrational calls to action and interact in multiple threads trying to get our best coach for the past 30 years fired, great look for the fanbase. You can be all in without ragging on players and coaches then get annoyed when people bring up your ridiculous claims.

I said things disagreeing with you about interactions among players last year after talking with the players myself but even then I made it clear that whike I had some information what I said was still my opinion, as none of us can ever know everything. As far as I can tell from your responses you made you don't try to get info or even have basic knowledge of sport but still post like you know more than everyone else, which is clearly not even close to true. People can respect someone voicing their opinion if that person in turn respects them. That's a very low bar and you don't even come close.

The biggest gripe i had with pike was his first 5.5 years he didnt run anything that resembled a half court offense. That has changed the past few weeks. Look at the action weve run recently and then look at the first 5.5 years. Its totally different and for the better.
