Understand the bowls have their deals with conferences, but something seems out of whack with No. 23 Pittsburgh (8-4) vs. Northwestern (6-6) and Indiana (6-6) vs. No. 19 Utah (8-4). That said, Scarlet Nation curse means that both Northwestern and Indiana will win.

Pinstripe Bowl up first , interesting matchup between Pitt and Northwestern. I hope the out of town fans find the good spots to tailgate, lol.

Pic from previous RU Pinstripe Bowls :

Pinstripe Bowl crowd not very good early on, but probably still fans outside tailgating.

Wrong.
This Bowl won't draw close to 30,000.
Just no local interest unless RU, ND, or State Penn is playing.

The overhead shot they just showed proves you wrong. Lower and mezzanine level pretty filled.

No sir.
You are seeing the Mezzanine shots between the 20 Yard lines on one side.
Wait for a end zone or right field view.
Mezzanine goes from Foul Pole to Foul Pole. Believe me they are not 50% occupied.

Terrific 99 yard drive for NW after stopping Pitt at the goal line. NW RB Justin Jackson with some great runs.

NW leads 7-3

And don't forget to add Maryland to that list. Bigly, huuuuge local draw.

That's why we're playing there, right? (insert eye roll emoji guy here)

NW just gets another turnover as Pitt about to score, that's 14 Pitt points they squandered. Crowd looks pretty good to me, not sure what some of you are looking at.
.
Nice interview with NW alum Joe Girardi.

Wrong. Look behind home plate... the Mezzanine is empty from home plate out to the 10 yard lines or so.
Consider this, Yankee Stadium closed off the Upper Deck for ticket sales. That never happened at the RU Bowl game at Pinstripe. Take out those 10,000 seats and the max. you can get today is 40,000 IF ALL SEATS BELOW ARE FILLED. Like I said maybe 30,000 if they are lucky.

Behind home plate looks decent to me, sideline mezz looks good to me too, I'm guessing 35-38K , not as much as RU would draw of course, but probably what they expected.
Let's see what the announced attendance . Not that it matters , really.

Upper level between the goal lines are now filled up. I"m revising my estimate to over 38-40K

14-3 NW , Justin Jackson showing the world his skills. 3x 1000 yard runner. Not super fast, but very good vision and cutting ability.

Pitt scores a TD on a pass. 14-10 with almost 3 min left in the half.

Remember , you are only sharp in the morning. Unless you have been hitting the whiskey cabinet already.
The Upper Deck is sealed off. That's 10,000 seats removed from the 49,000 total.
So now the max is 39,000. There are numerous empty sections in the mid level behind home plate and down the Right field line. Again , 30,000 is generous.

Was the tarp thing by the dugouts down there before?

Yes , Tarps down in previous years. The Upper deck, at least on one side that the camera just showed, is open and probably 1/2 filled between the goal lines.

Yes, they are covered for all football games.
Another factor when looking at the real capacity today. Take out the Upper Deck and Tarp seats you are down to 39,000 or so as a max. possible attendance.

Announced crowd of 37,918
Everything in your above post is WRONG. BWA HA HA !

BTW - there's nowhere near 37K in the building (my guess is 27-30K'ish), however, still a nice crowd for Pitt-NW.

Wow , what a game ! NW retakes the lead 28-24

Right now this Bowl game in a baseball stadium has the best announced turnout (approx 37,900) of any Bowl game.

A look at the official attendance numbers for each game played in the 2016-17 college football bowl season.
  • New Mexico Bowl: 29,688. ...
  • Las Vegas Bowl: 29,286. ...
  • Camellia Bowl: 21,000 capacity. ...
  • Cure Bowl: 27,213. ...
  • New Orleans Bowl: 35,061. ...
  • Miami Beach Bowl: 15,262. ...
  • Boca Raton Bowl: 24,726. ...
  • Poinsettia Bowl: 28,114.

Yes, and we know the Announced Attendance is BS.
I certainly hope a Bowl in NYC would outdraw Bowls in New Mexico and Shreveport.
Just on the giveaways on tickets this would happen.

Let's see how the remaining Bowls draw.

All announced Attendances are BS. So it's all relative .

And NW recovers a fumble. Great game, about 8 min left.
The funny thing is there is a beautiful Football Stadium sitting empty today 3 miles west of the Lincoln Tunnel.

Great game.
If the NFL would have allowed a Dome on Met Life there would be many CFB Games there : BOWL

31-24 NW up but Pitt driving.

As far as a dome goes, Giants Stadium without a dome of course, hosted the Garden St Bowl, and of course Pro playoff games go to mid Jan.
Not sure why Met Life not interested in a Bowl

I guess the Yankees are just more creative with generating revenue.

PS- it's now happy hour and I just made my first drink. Watch out , lol

And with that NW pick, that should be all she wrote. Pitt had their last chance, but their 2nd string QB couldn't pull it off.

Final looks like 31-24 unless something crazy happens in the Victory formation.

On to the next Miami- W VA game. Go Mountaineers
