I thought @higgins3 was a student and he might have a pulse on the situation....are people talking about it, are they going, etc.How do you See social medi buzz around a campus ? Monitors of Facebook and Twitter are up?
But I do think the students will be into it if we continue to win. It doesn't look like we have a big game at the rac for a while. Miami would have been a good barometer if at home .
I think he meant that you don't see a social media buzz around campus. You see it online.I thought @higgins3 was a student and he might have a pulse on the situation....are people talking about it, are they going, etc.
I don't think it will be an instant thing either but maybe in this new age of ultra fast communication we end up getting more sooner than later. The students will not come until we show we can beat real teams..25 years of failure has done lasting damage. Can't just instantly turn that around
Well that's what I meant as my talking comment didn't mean face to face (since nobody of a certain age seems to be doing that anymore) but the back and forth online. That kind of "talking".I think he meant that you don't see a social media buzz around campus. You see it online.
I don't think it'd take 4 years..just next year or the year after, assuming we're somewhere around a 13-17 win team this yearI don't think it will be an instant thing either but maybe in this new age of ultra fast communication we end up getting more sooner than later.
eh disagree. When I was in school 10-13 the RAC rocked for some big east games and was packed. I think we'll have a lively student section after winter breakThe students will not come until we show we can beat real teams..25 years of failure has done lasting damage. Can't just instantly turn that around

I can't argue with that. This is why I've called on Pat Hobbs to do some aggressive promos to get students to the game. Free t-shirts, free pizzas, free gift cards in a lottery - I don't care what. If this team can get the old RAC atmosphere behind it, then it might just be able to pull off a couple of upsets. The time is now to double-down on the investment made with this staff by getting students to the game!
your ideas are creative and seek a positive goal - but I don't think we should ever bribe our students with gifts and giveaways. Its not the reason why we want them to the game, right?
Just treat our students right, treat them like its their program they are watching. Those are their classmates on the floor and they should root hard for them simply because of that.
But yes, we need to pack the RAC
Yeah, but the student section was maybe 1/4 full for the 2nd home game, so I'm assuming there was some promo for the first one...I guess some of you were not at the first home game where they students section was pretty full.

When this stuff was started a few years ago there were plenty on here who complained about it..."too minor league baseball-like" was one I remember being used.I hear you. But, Given our history, I would bribe them to get them to experience their first game -- as a loss leader. After that, it's up to the team to get them to come back with their effort and exciting play.

Call it "Pike's Peak" for the upper rows. And make it the cool place to be.We had Wensicles in 1989. Maybe we need to see some Pikesicles in the student section and elsewhere. This would get the following increased just by seeing this on TV as well as at the games.
