all 1 and 2s in the Elite 8 (with the sole exception of a 3 seed)

and the Sweet 16 was all power conference teams (not a single mid major).

not a single mid major won a second game in the tourney (to get to the Sweet 16). that's pretty amazing. and sad (if a sign of things to come)

and its a pretty extreme result (especially considering what a crap shoot the NCAA tourney.... the crap shoot nature is what makes it special)

we shall if this year is an outlier

or

if its a sign of how things are gonna be moving forward in college basketball (i.e., are the transfer rules/ NIL resulting in a consolidation of talent with the "haves" - who will cherry pick the talent of the "have nots")

I'm not sure where he got lost. Freshman and soph plays 17 min and two years later is only up to 21. Seems like he was playing what he should have been. He wasn't lost.

You’re quoting someone who generally provides good info and isn’t one to make things up. I’m sure there’s ways that these guys contact one another through back channels. Wrestling is a tight knit community where everyone knows everyone so theres definitely mutual contacts.

Nah - it’s all about money. Wasn’t worth it to us to pay what he wanted. The top dogs can get better. So he found a team willing to go into their pocket for his services. That simple. It’s no guarantee he beats out their center either by the way.

Even that part is questionable and probably depends on what you go to school for. While I think most rankings show RU as the better school, as spot like Niche.com has Alabama as the 39th top public school in the country and RU as the 42nd. But yeah, I was looking at it strictly from a athlete POV.

Dad coaches from the stands very vocally and she listens to Dad more than the coach.

Well, I love baseball and do follow the Yankees. I have always been a Met's fan but have been to many more Yankee games in my life. A past company I was with had great box seats between home plate and the visitor dugout. The 2nd section from the field. we had 4 seats that were in the 2nd row of that section and right on the aisle. Loved them as it had the food delivery. Just had to put your order on a paper order sheet and a couple of innings later- delivered to us. Great for taking clients to a game. Went to many playoff and world series games.
The amigos like to say I troll over there but I just talk baseball.
Now, the Phillies threads- no interest in them at all

I think in an elimination game anything can happen. Top teams can have injuries, poor shooting nights, other team can get hot & shoot lights out. It didn't happen this year, but I doubt upsets are gone from the tournament.

People seem quick to criticize players for not caring about the schools themselves.
But then people seem pretty quick just to drop their team (and likely alma mater) just because rosters are turning over more frequently.

Syracuse could return every players every year and win 4 straight championships.

I'm still caring about a Rutgers team of all new players losing every game than even the slightest bit about Syracuse.

Name on the front is infinitely more important for more than the names on the back.
