US News rankings out:

Yea, this board has moved away from its original purpose to being nothing more than a free board outlet for politics.

However, it can still function as a place where we can easily keep track of ranking changes year over year since it’s not as fast paced as the others.

#41.
#15 for public schools.

We did not get hurt as much by the change to first time graduation rates as I thought we would.

OT: RIP Cissy Houston

A star herself, mother to Whitney Houston and grandmother to Bobbi Kristina Brown, both of whom predeceased her. RIP. Gary Garland, born to Cissy and her first husband, Freddie Garland, was a guard for the Denver Nuggets of the NBA.

One of Newark's finest.

Tomorrow is the 30th Anniversary of Lord Nelson's penalty

The only horse in the history of college football to be hit with a penalty, almost costing Rutgers a game against Army. We missed the XP after the penalty pushed it back 15 yards, leaving RU precariously ahead of Army, 16-14. Fortunately, Army missed a 50-yard FG at the end which would have won the game for them. Fans got unruly despite the win, throwing beer bottles at the horse and its handlers after the game.

Lord Nelson lived to the ripe old age of 42, ancient for a horse.

Excellent story in nj.com. I had never heard about the root cause of the horse's unexpected gallop was that the extra point net got all tangled up.

Victory Formation

Am I the only person that doesn't like crashing the line when the other team is in a victory formation?? I'm as big a backer of Schiano that there is but I don't like it at all. I would be interested to know the players feelings that are asked to do it. I can't imagine they like it. It can't sit well with opposing coaches or players. Just my thoughts and opinion.

Men's Golf in South Bend for Fighting Irish Classic - Final Results.

Strong field led by pre-season #8 Tennessee. Also playing are pre-season #20 Washington, #23 Duke, and #26 UCLA. Other B1G teams are Iowa, Indiana, Michigan St, and Purdue. Last time out RU finished 8th in the Canadian Collegiate Invitational which was won by this week's host, Notre Dame.

RU has played in this event a number of times before. The Knights finished 6th last year. Probably most notable was back in 2019 Chris Gotterup shot 14 Under, including a 2nd Round 63 and ran away with the Individual Title by 8 strokes.

Rutgers will go with the same lineup they used previously with Grad Noah Kumar, Senior Weston Jones, Soph Derek Gutierrez, and Frosh Argyle Downes and Bennett Espenshade. Rutgers will be paired in the first 2 rounds with Duke and UCLA.
