Then the rebuilding job will be started for real. Lets see how far this new staff and Coach Ash can advance this program. Can we become a Top 25 program again? Can we compete year in, year out in this Conference? Can recruiting take the next step needed to build depth and talent to sustain winning no matter what happens during any given season?

Three things I've learned over the past few weeks :

- The dead/quiet recruiting period is a great idea that keeps everyone a lot more sane than they otherwise would be over that time frame.
- The fact that coaches can only make phone calls for a while keeps everyone on equal footing.
- Anyone complaining about Chris Ash's situation, given the above two facts, is likely to be stuck in a loser mentality from the past....and doesn't put a high premium on the old-fashioned concept of honor.

there is more to a head coaches job than just recruiting, especially when just hired, in anything you do full time is better than part time

We can definitely be a consistent top 25 program. Look at some of the schools in the top 25 this year .....we can do it!

Yes
No
Perhaps

The senior Buckeye players are going for 50 wins in their career, they will be the first group of OSU seniors to accomplish that and a record all of them are shooting for.
Don't think the Fiesta Bowl isn't a big game for them and one that isn't as important as any rivalry game those seniors have played.
This game will give them a record unmatched by any of the past seniors that played on the Ohio State Football Team and something they will be bragging about after their College careers are over.
The seniors know they will be accomplishing something that hasn't been done before and that might be making this game one of the biggest games they have played in their college careers.
No one can deny this is a big game for those seniors, their teammates that want them to get that record and all of the coaching staff that want to help make the dream of having the most wins of any OSU team in a 4 year period become a fact for each and every senior playing in the Fiesta Bowl

With all the Midwest coaches, I see a full court press on the Big Ten's fertile recruiting ground and a power shift moving to the east. In two years, Ohio St and Michigan will be looking up at us in the rankings (and still looking down at PSU).
