After two straight days with daily new positives in NJ under 400, we logged just 261 yesterday. Murphy responds by limiting indoor gatherings to 25 people (previously 100).

Our magical Rt number is at 1.48 according to the state, and is .97 according to rt.live but hey what's 50% between friends?

Two words: Teachers union.

NJ's mystery rate of transmission metric continues to go up.

Spot positivity rate has not increased. New cases remain rangebound, with a slight increase in the SDMA.

Now Murphy is starting to roll back stuff based on this Rt value which I can't wrap my head around.
Rt goes from 1.48 -1.49 and we rollback ? In order to come to this logic it makes little sense. How many additional infections would have had to occur ? It’s not just the indoor house parties with 700 high school and college aged kids. Instead of rolling back on the restaurants , who have for what I know, done a good job thus far ... maybe we should be tightenIng the restrictions on parties on private property. The bars are another danger but if you are going to claim overcrowded beaches and boardwalks are not , then this action is senseless... Pass out the fines ... Maybe then some will understand the severity of this virus and the negative impact it causes those who have a compromised immune system... My 4 year old granddaughter has more sense telling me after I was tested this morning, “ papa if they aren’t wearing a mask don’t go near them.” She then tells me all her fellow classmates in pre school wear masks to protect “ old “ people . This from a child... I don’t know what’s right anymore ... who cares and who doesn’t give a crap... Maybe we all need to be more child like with our feelings toward each other . Children always seem to make the most sense.

Where is it cited as 0.97?

Yesterday, my niece held a gender announcement party (who knew there was even such a thing) for her pregnant sister-in-law down in Georgia. My niece has Covid but is asymptomatic. There were about a dozen people at this party and nobody wore a mask or socially distanced.

I was apoplectic seeing this posted on Facebook. After seeing this and reading about the 700 person AirBnB party in NJ, I am holding out little hope that short of a mandatory nationwide shut-down that we aren't going to end up with astronomical mortality numbers.

Sorry to rant folks, but I was told by relatives not to force my liberal northern views on the good people of my family who live in Georgia.

My neighbor had over 100 people at a party in his backyard yesterday. We were invited but declined.

+1
Deal with the actual problem instead of making more irrational magic 8 ball mandates. All this takes is leadership and a backbone.

I think it does Greg2020 ...didn’t NJ announce today 25% capacity for dining ? I’m not sure that seems logical to penalize a restaurant with say with plenty of room outside ( huge private parking lot) and able to space tables properly ...( 20 tables @ 4 each ) I know of several right by me in Middlesex County....it’s these mass private home parties in large groups ...examples Middletown and Toms River NJ....now that is bad... but if you want masses of people head out to Sturgis S.D. from August 7-16 with potentially 250k Bikers. The people who own businesses in town depend on those 9 days to make their money.

It only applies to indoors. Restaurants aren't allowed to have people indoors anyway.

people like to make believe the south are the only people not following the rules. Go look at the Jersey Shore. Go look at the pictures from Europe. I saw a pic of a rave on the water in Germany. The "necessary" protests are far worse than any beach gathering or graduation party or gender reveal for that matter. You aren't going to keep people locked in their homes for months at a time, especially when they know the real risks to themselves and their family members. It's shocking that people might be tired of being locked up when they see prisoners being released and cities being destroyed while politicians make excuses for them.

Nice try but i call bs on the story. Another person trying to make it all about red state spread when its happening in the Northern states as well

I guess you two geniuses forgot that I also addressed the party of 700 in New Jersey.

The story is 100% factual. I love it. The guy who never has been south of Philadelphia is all about justifying the south. Gee, I can't imagine why.

Gender reveal parties have been a popular pre birth thing for a number of years...Well , if you’re from Albany we know news travels slow. For the women and some men it’s a big deal.

Hey Boob. Comedy isn't your thing. Try and stay in your lane.

I mean for a poster who cries like an infant whenever compared to the old Current Events Board crowd, you sure do align up with them on lot of issues.

And I'm from New Jersey Boob.

I was wondering the same thing about respecting others' opinions....geez, if respecting others' opinions means calling them insane and saying they can't count to four if they don't agree with yours, who needs insults lol?

But go ahead and knock yourself out with your Civil War-Chicomvirus thesis for whatever you think it will prove. I doubt you will find that Lincoln and the generals he fired did in fact share aligned policy and "culture ". Certainly Marie Yovanovitch and admitted liar Alexander Vindman didn't share Trump's policy or "culture" at the the State Dept or NSC, nor did FBI's McCabe, Strzok, Comey etc., etc. So no, you don't have any "facts" to support your opinions about Trump's policy or "culture" leading to the CDC Atlanta lab failures, or Fauci's initial downplaying of the chicomvirus. And keep counting on those polls that about 75% of R's do not trust to even answer, I'm sure it will work out for you.

Don't need to look to the Civil War. 156,000 dead tells the story. Period. End of discussion.

But I do hope you are still around in November.

Wonder if you will admit you were wrong?

"The Fix" continues....

'Don’t speak for me': Yale doctor battles CNN anchor over effectiveness of hydroxychloroquine

"Again, the question is,” a frustrated Berman continued, “Why haven’t any random, placebo-controlled trials showed benefit? Isn’t that a problem for an epidemiologist?”

“No,” Risch shot back. “In fact, the FDA has a huge history of drugs going into widespread use in the medical community for decades that have not been established in the basis of randomized controlled trials. Half of the chemotherapy drugs used in cancer were used without randomized controlled trials.”

CNN’s on-screen graphic, which has grown notoriously snarky, sided with Berman, who continued to disagree with Risch.

“Yale epidemiologist insists, against evidence, hydroxychloroquine works,” the chyron said."

You know something you act like a child ... If you were offended by me saying “ news travels slow in Albany.” and reveal parties have been around for awhile you are not worth the time. Explain what my agreeing with some that you dislike for political issues has anything to do with anything? Like I said you act like a spoiled brat. But no problem .

156k dead tells many stories. Period.

I'm sure I'll still be around in November. Either way, your opinion will still be just that.

I'm not the one fighting with a half-dozen posters every day. That would be you my child.

I make a 100% factual post and you hop on board with the four old Current Events board wack-jobs who specialize in group attacks. This is what they do. They did it on the old Current Events Board and they are doing it here. This is why this thread has gone into the crapper. And many of your post and more importantly, your posting behavior, mirrors these guys. At your age, you should know better.

Sorry but it is an opinion shared by 90% of this board, 70% of all American voters and I would guess over 90% of all Europeans.

Like I told you last week, we are each entitled to our own opinions. But for some reason whenever I post something against Trump, it sets you off. Find me one post you made in this whole thread, where I attacked your position(s) first.

I'll be happy to wait. It is really simple. If you disagree with what I post or Numbers post or anyone for that matter, simply ignore it or offer you own opinion w/o attacking the poster.

I don’t fight with a half dozen board posters you sad sack... I have had some battles on here but you continue to brand those that don’t agree with your visions as “ your group “ ... I ‘ve been very amicable and have attempted to be more cognizant of others however you unabashedly prove your Albany back woods attitude. Or should I say Trash life... keep posting and keep thinking one side is right and one wrong. ... so post again so I can laugh hoe dumb you really are.

Sorry only in your dreams do you have anywhere near those numbers of people that agree with your opinion. And I already explained to you that calling people not agreeing with you "insane" or stupid--as not being able to count to four--is insulting, so there is nothing you need to wait for. I will continue to ignore plenty of the nonsense on this Board as I have, and will continue to address what I choose to. Thanks anyway.

How do you know what to address if you're ignoring it?

Just a heads-up re: your assumptions about your opinions.

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Monday shows that 51% of Likely U.S. Voters approve of President Trump’s job performance. Forty-seven percent (47%) disapprove.-

For the love of God, please please stop. You have been right about everything and I have been wrong.

There. Everything better?

Your question is kinda nonsensical. But to simplify for you, I noted "I will continue to ignore plenty of the nonsense on this Board as I have, and will continue to address what I choose to" , therefore there is plenty, but not all, that I ignore. Capeesh?

****MUST WATCH****

Dr Gold is interviewed, she has AMAZING CREDENTIALS and gives EYE OPENING INFORMATION

Dr. Simone Gold is the founder of America’s Frontline Doctors and a Los Angeles-based physician. In the video, she made misleading claims about hydroxychloroquine prescriptions and coronavirus case numbers.
For the past few months, Gold has been involved in a drive aimed at mobilizing doctors that believe states should reopen faster. The Save Our Country Coalition, which seeks to raise millions of dollars, is backed by advocates linked to several conservative organizations, including the FreedomWorks Foundation and the Tea Party Patriots, according to the Guardian.

As part of that effort, hundreds of physicians sent an open letter to Trump in late May that called state shutdowns "a mass casualty incident" — despite evidence that suggests stay-at-home orders prevented new coronavirus cases and deaths. Gold was the first signature on the letter.

Boy that's impressive!!!!!!
