Getting more & more convinced that the question is not when does Ash obtain the commit - but when & how does Ash see it as it strategically best to announce it.
It is the player that announces a commit, a coach is limited to what he can say.
Don't see any way RU doesn't get at least 2 unless their teeth are chattering too much to verbal.
That's an interesting thought, but when would be the strategic moment? Wouldn't you want it ASAP, so that any undecided recruits on the fence could be influenced?
100% realize the title "do we get a commit by monday night" is meant about this weekend. I assume no one here expects him to stop at the first commit. My question is related to the fact that we have visitors on campus and I am wondering if he can get a commit this weekend.

I assume you mean the recruit, not Ash puts the commitment out there. What possible strategy could you come up with that matters this late in the game? Kid wants to verbal, he does.
Agree. Wouldn't be surprised if they try to do a bulk announcement or something to generate hype.
- yes, of course the player announces - but don't think for a second that a recruit that is "aligned" with their new respective program isn't going to make sure that they are on the same page with the coach on the info release.
Whatever happens on LOI day we are a year or two behind the 8 ball based on the past 4 or 5 years of under recruitng and abuse. At the least... Our hope is that the staff can take our lack of talent and depth to another level as we prepare to watch Michigan and Pitt raid our talent pantry. It'all good

Elorm Lumor of Piscataway.....he was in prep school this year.....he was committed to temple and switched to Rutgers on short notice and is starting ASAP.
Thanks for stating the obvious. Every coach evaluates prospects differently,or maybe you weren't aware of that. We will know how accurate Coach Ash's evaluations are in a few years. Hopefully this is one of his strengths, but it is far too early to tell. Assuming it is does not necessarily make it so.
Got it, however, didn't realize hoops got a (non-rated or ranked) commit, today, which makes your comment make more sense, lol!
Maryland & Syracuse seem to be getting recruits following their coaching changes. I wonder is there is some impact to their coaches starting immediately and Ash waiting until the bowl season was over.
We will have several commits in the next ten days, I will be shocked if we don't have at least three this weekend. Seems the way it works now, the player tweets he committed. coaches can't say anything mentioning names, till after the player signs his LOI.
Very true - I lol'd that UNC would offer a schollie to a kid like Pat Rene. Gene Chizik is an idiot - he offered a recruit that Ash forced out.
We are 10 days away from either falling deeper into a 146 year hole or seeing the light of a future that we have been waiting for those same 146 years. Now I go shovel and hope my heart does not fail. :angry:
Did Rutgers recently offer Jonah Morris.
Looking at the Rivals recruiting profile, it did not have Rutgers listed with an offer or a recruiting visit.
I know Pitt is interested in him (MSU,Indiana,ND,Kentucky, Pitt list of 5) but have no idea how he is leaning.
