But the defense did not play well at all. I guess we’re overplaying the perimeter to limit threes, but the interior defense has been allowing too many looks at the rim.

Nah. In context, a lot of those fouls are against Payne (40% FT). There making shots and we uncharacteristically have not gotta stops (but were shooting well too)
I can't stand that ISO play with Simpson holding the ball until 2 secs left & forcing up a shot from deep.
