Here is the risk of statements like these: Let us say that half a dozen people on this Board have posted the bolded statement above. They could all be correct of course - one of the fun things about message Boards are the interesting little tidbits of actual inside information from various sources that get posted.
BUT ... all theses seemingly unconnected half a dozen posters COULD be speaking to the same 1-2 people ... or even unbeknownst to the rest of the message board, to each OTHER ... thinking several of those posters to whom they are speaking are connected to the inside.
And the rest of us would have NO IDEA which insiders are talking, to whom ... are the insiders Admin people, Athletic Admin people, BOG people, professors, people who know any of those above (i.e. are the people talking connected to people who have actual knowledge, or do they have the actual knowledge themselves), or people who know players or players' families. The rest of us schlubs have literally NO IDEA, nor can we, of how solid the connections of the posters who post such information, nor how solid the connections of the connections of the posters' posting might be ...if you get my drift.
And partly because it is ALL anonymous: Not only the posters, but their connections, and their connections' connections.
As an example, over the years, I have heard plenty of tidbits. Some come from people I have talked to who have talked to people supposedly in the know. Some have come from even one more connection removed. With ONE exception (basketball, where I had a modest and occasional dialogue directly with a basketball staff member for about 18 months), NONE of my knowledge comes directly from any source - only second, third or fourth hand.
Basically, we cannot know whether ANY posters are actually hearing information directly from primary sources, or from secondary or even tertiary sources. Now those more indirect sources may end up being correct, but we will never know until after the fact ... if even then. However, human nature being what it is, we give more credence when multiple poster post the same thing, rather when when just 1-2 posters post the same thing ... even if ALL the posters have the same person as source (which we cannot know, one way or the other).
