It's over!

Ah another inflammatory post. So all you posters KNOW everything on the inside. Great. I'm so proud. You guys are wrong 100% of the time any way. How'd that Mario Cristobal done deal as coach go? Yea that was awesome. Still waiting on that one even this time around. How about the Tom Savage transferring back to RU from Arizona one? Good one. Liked seeing him around campus again.

I for one support the players so if any of you want to give up your seasons and you sit down low and especially on the 50 yard line, let me know. Especially the "1/3" of the season ticket holders who won't come back. I'd like to get a better view of the game than where my seats are now. Let me know.

Better luck next time you want to belittle other posters. Hopefully you won't come off looking as bad.

I have as much confidence in a football coaching change as there will be shovels in the ground for the basket ball practice facility in 2016.

Do you want to keep Flood?

The only thing that struck me as odd in some of Flood's recent press conferences was when ask if he has support. He would say the people who know me support me. Recently we haven't heard him say he has the support of the administration and president. It may mean nothing but at the beginning of the season he was adamant that he had the full support of the administration and president.

I sit on the 48. Is that close enough lol. I know it isn't because I'm in the uppers.

I agree 100%. I too root for the players, not any particular coach or staff. Maybe there'll be less of us next year so those of us who don't give up will just have to be a bit louder. Deal?

I will be surprised if Flood is fired. If he is I think it will be more about the off the field issues he had this year than his on field performance if he somehow wins 5 games.

Financially, I think the admin wants to wait another year since we probably will have more money next year unless the boosters will fund the $1.4 mil buyout plus another $2 mil a year salary.

"the extension guarantees Flood to receive a flat $1.4 million buyout if he is terminated without cause at any point through Feb. 28, 2019. "

You also have to take into account, that none of the Private Investigation has been released yet.

http://www.nj.com/rutgersfootball/i...res_law_firm_for_top_to_bottom_investiga.html

I am sure when this comes out, there will be plenty of cause for termination. I also have heard from a very reliable source that he is out at seasons end.

I want to see Rutgers Admin make a quick, strong, and professionally handled decision. Is that too much to ask for just once?

So you must be an English major to understand proper grammar?

CNJKnight - my seats are between the 35 and 40 yard line, field level, in the 6th row behind the RU bench (Section 127), so you can ask for them if Elmer returns in 2016.

Here is the risk of statements like these: Let us say that half a dozen people on this Board have posted the bolded statement above. They could all be correct of course - one of the fun things about message Boards are the interesting little tidbits of actual inside information from various sources that get posted.

BUT ... all theses seemingly unconnected half a dozen posters COULD be speaking to the same 1-2 people ... or even unbeknownst to the rest of the message board, to each OTHER ... thinking several of those posters to whom they are speaking are connected to the inside.

And the rest of us would have NO IDEA which insiders are talking, to whom ... are the insiders Admin people, Athletic Admin people, BOG people, professors, people who know any of those above (i.e. are the people talking connected to people who have actual knowledge, or do they have the actual knowledge themselves), or people who know players or players' families. The rest of us schlubs have literally NO IDEA, nor can we, of how solid the connections of the posters who post such information, nor how solid the connections of the connections of the posters' posting might be ...if you get my drift.

And partly because it is ALL anonymous: Not only the posters, but their connections, and their connections' connections.

As an example, over the years, I have heard plenty of tidbits. Some come from people I have talked to who have talked to people supposedly in the know. Some have come from even one more connection removed. With ONE exception (basketball, where I had a modest and occasional dialogue directly with a basketball staff member for about 18 months), NONE of my knowledge comes directly from any source - only second, third or fourth hand.

Basically, we cannot know whether ANY posters are actually hearing information directly from primary sources, or from secondary or even tertiary sources. Now those more indirect sources may end up being correct, but we will never know until after the fact ... if even then. However, human nature being what it is, we give more credence when multiple poster post the same thing, rather when when just 1-2 posters post the same thing ... even if ALL the posters have the same person as source (which we cannot know, one way or the other).

Parsnips.

Next month I can search for "parsnips" and pull up this thread to see who is right and wrong.

:stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
I'm going to write "parsnips" on every post going forward.

Basically agree with this. Various posters have their sources and I'm sure trust their sources and supply info with good intentions but who's to know who really knows what with each issue that might pop up. Some might be tuned into to one thing but not something else. Best you can do is read tea leaves to a degree but take things with grains of salt until whatever actually happens happens.

Will Darius Hamilton have his degree in-hand for a graduate transfer to Michigan like Iowa QB Jake Rudock? Wouldn't want to see Darius return to HPSS in Maize and Blue.

My neighbor walked up to me today with the serious stoic look and said coach Flood is done. before I was able to ask a question he turned around and walked away.

Does your neighbor ask what kind of bread you want and whether you want to add chips and soda?? If so, then I believe you.

He has one year left. The program can't afford another year of this.

I didn't say I didn't or didn't. I'd like to know when it's announced he is (if he does indeed get let go) let go and not run rumors rampant as we all know recruits and their parents come on this board. But I support the student-athletes and how do you think THEY feel if Flood is let go. I played sports in college-let me tell you. It's not fun when the coach who recruited you to play for them is let go. Because in the end it's how I played that caused it. They may have coached but I certainly did the playing.

I don't know... folks with real power over RU with whom I have spoken seem to focus on one thing -- that Elmer's inexpensive. I'd be surprised if he goes anywhere next year, to be honest.

Looks like these "folks with real power" need to read a book on economics! I suggest this one, don't want to stress them out or anything.
It will cost the school much, much more to keep Mr. Flood, then to fire him.

The investigation was started in the first place with the full intent of creating a solid foundation to fire for cause, and a reduced buyout settlement, if the season played out in the way it has.

He's gone. I just wish they would do it now instead of after the Maryland game

The thing with Flood, he does not seem like he has a good grasp on reality witness his decision making this year both on and off field. Although it is disturbing every time he basically boasts about the support he has, I have a feeling he is misreading what is really being said to him. And is dumb enough to proclaim it in public.

Didn't we also hear that Carroo's offense earlier in the year would make us "sick to our stomachs"? And how about the many people who've said "Flood will 100% be back next year"?

Don't think anyone here knows more than anyone else. But it's easy to make a post like this: you're right, you flaunt it; you're wrong, no one remembers.
Generally true. There are only a few posters who make predictions that I actually consider might have inside info - most don't - and those who truly have inside info don't usually share that info on the board, since, well, they might not keep getting inside info.

Last night, I received some truly inside information about this. A couple decisions have been made and, trust me, nobody else has this information because it's being held very, very closely by a very few people. And nobody's talking about it.

This information is going to shocking. Some people will be relatively unsurprised by the first decision, or at least some will claim to be unsurprised. I'm positive that nobody will expect the second decision. I didn't see this coming at all. Wouldn't have guessed in a million years.

This is definitely something fans are going to want to know about before they decide what to do with their season tickets.

I have to be very careful about how I reveal this information. So I can't just post it here. This information is priceless. People would gladly pay hundreds of dollars for this information. But today, I can offer this incredible information to all of you for the low, low price of five dollars. That's right, five dollars. This is a one-time amazing offer that will expire at 7pm tonight and will never be repeated. So act now. Please make out your checks to "Mildone Sarcastic Post Fund".
