Splitting hairs buddy... last or second to last is the same. Nothing to be proud about.
Next you're going to tell the South didn't have slaves going into the Civil War.:rolleyes:Yankees weren't second to last either. That would be the Tigers, 3 years after the Yankees.
0-6 Stankees---It's called DEFLECTION when your team has the fewest wins in the American League. Glass houses baby.3-0 Braves!
Add: Yankees are a game or two from having the worst record in MLB. Record 8-160-6 Stankees---It's called DEFLECTION when your team has the fewest wins in the American League. Glass houses baby.
Johnny says to Sally last night, "I came all da way to shCiti Field and sat in a cold/wet seat for 3 hours to see them get 1 measly hit?
No wonda no one goes to Metz games"
The talk about schedule and beating up on bad teams was started in this thread by the ineffective troll. It wasn't Mets fans pumping their chest about record, only for him to try and bring perspective. He just keeps repeating it despite no one claiming that the teams the Mets are playing are juggernauts. In the interest of unity, may I propose the following:
Met fans agree to stipulate that:
Yankee fans agree to refrain from continually reminding Met fans of this.
- The Mets opening schedule has been on the soft side, although maybe not as soft as it originally appeared, due to the Phillies recent strong play.
- Historically, the Yankees have been the stronger and more accomplished franchise by far.
- At least partially because of (2), the Yankees have the broader fan base, and better attendance and TV ratings.
I'm a lifelong Cubs fan. I prefer to live in the moment these days, but we can never escape the 27 rings...Ok. You got me there. I'll give you that.
But mot Yankee fans have that "If all else fails, throw the 27 rings in their faces" answer to everything.
Yawn...Johnny says to Sally last night, "I came all da way to shCiti Field and sat in a cold/wet seat for 3 hours to see them get 1 measly hit?

Yawn...
But don't get me started on the stadiums. The new Yankee Stadium is a dump, Citi Field is one of the nicest parks in the majors. Top 5 easily.
Gotta suck when you are so bad if you invert your record you are in first place.Yeah, it's easy when you play the level of competition the Mets do. Weeze got 27 rings and stuff, and weeze are doing fine considering the age of our staff. Weeze still draw better.
Yea, but, but, we won 27 WS,lol.Wow, how the mighty have fallen. All that uncapped spending and raping their own farm system to get proven players over the years has taken it's toll. The rest of the league has caught up.Gotta suck when you are so bad if you invert your record you are in first place.

Like that's been working. But that team from the Bronx is just regrouping for the 2018 FA market. MLB needs a salary cap so bad to keep franchises like the Yankees from hordiing talent for decades.
Not really. Mets were 11-7 before d'Arnaud went on d'L, 9-4 since. An improvement but not a dramatic one, and nothing that can be directly attributed to Plawecki. Is it me or the Mets started winning when d'Arnaud went on the DL and Plawecki got into the lineup? Better defensive catcher and will do for a number 8 hitter while d'arnaud was struggling at the plate and behind the plate.
The hate is self-inflicted through. d'Arnaud is a very good hitter when he isn't trying to pull everything. But when he's swinging for the fences and trying to pull every pitch to left, he's a subpar hitter. He's got a long swing because of how he holds the bat almost parallel to the ground at the top of his stance. He either needs to lose that or focus harder on staying up the middle. The hate Travis has gotten this year bothers me, dude was a catcher with an .825 OPS last year and provided power at the bottom of the lineup. I am a Plawecki fan though, compact swing and solid defensively. Mets are very fortunate to have two young catchers.
I agree but people need to realize he's not Buster Posey, every team in the league would love to get that kind of production out of a catcher. Who was hating on him last season when he was healthy? He was batting sub-.200 with an OPS+ of 50 before he got hurt this year. That literally makes him half as good as average. Criticism is fair until he snaps out of it. Hopefully it was tied to the shoulder and once he's healthy he gets back to where he was.I agree but people need to realize he's not Buster Posey, every team in the league would love to get that kind of production out of a catcher. Sample size of 40 at bats isn't exactly fair, the benefit of having Plawecki is they don't have to rush him backWho was hating on him last season when he was healthy?
